I have the XRunner Struts and Springs up front, so I only can tell you how they are, together but i have loved them so far. They are MUCH stiffer than stock and they have greatly reduced body roll through the corners. As for dampening goes, they are alright, especially for a strut that comes stock on a truck, but it could be a bit better, but still, much better than the stock tockicos. I am much happier with these than my stock springs/struts, but they are much stiffer and would not help with a better riding truck lol. Not too sure, but I would assume that they would help even if you are lifted and/or planning to use the softer stock springs. But if you want an overall stiffer ride, you could use both of them together, as the drop on them is only around a 1/4", due to our trucks having a lower front end weight than the XRunners (I4 vs. V6)

The rear XR shocks are shorter in length, due to the XRunner leafs having slightly less of an arch. They perform marginally better than the stock tokicos. I've never had them on stock leafs, so i woudln't be able to tell you that combination would be.

If you want to improve your ride, install bilstein 5100 series shocks in the rear of your truck. They do make it for 5 lug tacomas, you just have to research the correct extended and collapsed length "BE #XXXX" Don't go with tokico, gabriel, monroe...those are all mostly for oem fitment and street duty use.

Also, if you have an AAL in the back, take it out and your ride will improve dramatically.

Don't know which I like better, wife ? Or Tacoma ?
I went just to bigger tires 235 75 15 goodyears . the ride was not just rough but downright scarey . my dealer let me drive away with 42 lbs in them , @ 70 mph my formerly steady stable truck was all over the road and potholes omg. i began lowering air 5 lbs at first then a couple at a time. i have found 30 to be optimal , and i am crazy bout my tires and my speedo is now close to right on the money.:homer:
