    Well got mine pulled apart last night and got the bezels painted. Think I am going to leave the bowls alone. Also got the harness and both ballasts mounted and wired up, ready to just plug into the lights. Did a quick mock up of the projector with the alignment ring and they look to be off quite a bit clockwise. Just judging by holding the light as level as I can and looking through the projector to see the cutoff shield not level, tilted to the right. Is this what most have found? Have to modify the alignment ring a bit?

    On the 2012-2013 this seems to be a common issue with the alignment ring on the Minis. See link below for solution done on a Highlander. There on other threads on TW as well.

    One more question: I am planning on wiring the halo's to come on with the dtrl's. On the '13 there are 3 wires. Does anyone happen to know which 2 wires I will need to use?

    Bilstien 5100 front/back... Morimoto Projector retrofit.
    Ya they came in a little Baggie with the locking ring for the projector and rubber grommet and stuff, and they don't line up that well but once you start screwing them into place it pulls it together in the right place, just remember that the two holes on the bottom are farther apart than the two on the top. So make sure when you screw the shroud on there properly matched up or it will crack the plastic. Good luck

    Thanks! I didn't open that little baggie, I was just messing with the parts while sitting on my couch :eek:

    Just trying to make sure I have all my shit together before I head into the install. Nothing worse than getting everything torn apart and realizing you're missing a tiny, cheap, yet critical, part.

    Grab a multi meter and check which wire has a constant 12v...then turn the signal on and see if that one alternates voltage, use the wire that gets a constant 12v's

    Received my FXR Stage III kit today. Everything is extremely high quality and wow these are bright (55w version)! I did a FX45 retrofit on my other vehicle and the FXR 3.0 far outperform those. Can't wait to get started!

    Well I had some setbacks last night. As stated earlier I got them apart and painted the bezels. Letting them dry overnight and last night was going to put them back in. Before doing that I was working on getting the projectors mocked up in the reflector bowls. Grinding on that alignment ring, got it pretty close by eye. Go to check fit of the shroud, and wow, there is no way that is gonna work. The panamera shrouds are freaking huge. Wind up having to cut off more than half the length and the 2 little feet that stick out. Got one done then start on the other and totally screw it up. Yep, gotta order 2 new shrouds now :( So now I go back to the bezels. I pick one up and am looking at it and notice a few spots I missed. No prob, grab the rattle can and will just put one more light coat on it. As soon as the paint hits the bezel it starts to orange peel like I have never seen before! So yeehaw, I get to sand/remove all that today and start completely over.

    Anyway, I was ready to spit nails last night. More calm this morning. Heading to starbucks and then lowe's for more paint and paint remover. Then to put in an order for another set of shrouds. Gonna go with the apollo's to hopefully not have to do any cutting on them.

    Back on track now. Copious amounts of acetone and elbow grease and I got all the paint off the bezel. Thankfully I only had to re-do one! Got it painted again and is now drying. Got one of the alignment rings modded and set in place with jb weld steel putty. Solid!! Lunch, then will get the other ring taken care of, then get the projectors mounted and secured and ready for my replacement shrouds.

    Bezel is drying and is looking good. Thankfully!! Got both alignment rings modded and both projectors installed in the bowls. Both fire up and work great. Ran them for a few minutes to let them finish smoking, will do again before sealing everything up. Just waiting on my replacement shrouds to come in. All that is left is to paint the shrouds, install the halo's, then seal the headlights back up and re-install. Heading to vacation tomorrow, so I'll finish up next weekend. Take it sleazy gents, see y'all on the flip!!
