    2 on top, one on the bottom that's not too hard to get to, and one on the end in the fender that's a bitch to get to.

    you can just use the ones with the broken tabs in your truck until you get your good ones retrofitted


    i found an easy way to get to the infamous bolt that is so hard to get to.
    all you have to do is take off the front bumper (its only 6 bolts and 1 push clip to get it off) and only takes about 5 minutes. so it is def worth it just to get to the asshole bolt.

    Depends on the plan... but that would at the very least require doing the job twice.

    In my case, my '08 plexi is starting to haze. Nowhere near as bad as my wife's '04 Rav4 (I restored them 4 times and they were never "good" and got worse quickly), but I can see they'll be there in a few years.

    So I will need some decent units for my retrofit... then I'll either toss my originals, or offer them up cheap.

    In PF's situation, if the "new" ones have better plexi, what I'd do is use the "new" covers with his original housings.

    It leaves him without lights for a weekend (if he does BHLM)... but it'll keep a good housing and fresh clear.

    ProForce, don't bang your head just yet... In response to both your post and EATABULLETcom you dont necessarily have to take off the bumper, compeltely. What you can do is unscrew the fender wall trimming (black plastic that is behind the bumper. Pretty much a mud blocker) and the pain in the ass screw should be easily accessible.

    In doing so, this will eliminate one having to completely remove the bumper and finding a spot for it to sit safely and such and etc.......... hehe:eek:

    ive taken the grill and bumper off multiple times and it is easier for me to do it that way. Especially on the 2012 lights, they are near impossible if you dont take more out of the way than usuall. also on the 12's theres a little clip that will b in the way of easily removing the housing, just unclip it carefully and the lights will come right out. i found out the hard way and now have scratches on my lenses from the lil fuker. if anyone needs more info on the '12 headlight removal just ask.

    Bummer only one from t4r... maybe spread it to other forums or is that too much of a hassle to run through the mods of the other forums?

    Anyways, getting ready... Ordered a new pair of Depo Sport (factory BHLM) from Amazon.
    I'm still debating on whether or not to black out the reflectors and shrouds... leaning that way for the Stormtrooper look.
    Will likely replace the turn signal bulbs with the silver bulbs and remove the yellow lenses.

    OEM bulbs and ballasts are the only difference between Stage 3 and 4. personally I prefer the OEM components and went with them on the last few retro fits i have done. You cant go wrong with the morimoto ballasts though the guys at TRS have awesome customer relations and a good warranty if anything goes wrong. however for bulbs, OEM all the way. the Osrams are awesome

    And that particular Stage-III/IV only applies to the FXR kit anyways.

    The H1 and DS2 are both Stage-III, but you have some decent options on the ballasts and burners on the DS2.
