Looks like a great trip! That's pretty much almost the same route I was planning, just with Pumpkin Patch thrown in for those who have never been. And yeah, all State Parks shut down til further notice :pout:

Pumpkin Patch would be a great addition. Let's hope this shutdown lifts before it gets too hot out there...

That's my worry right now, and why I wanted to do the trip no later than the end of May. I've been out there later in the year and it's doable, but not exactly enjoyable. Fingers crossed!!

I am in for any day really. I am working from home but can take time off if it is during the week. Been wanting to do a little trail run with the new truck since I got it so this sounds like fun.

What do you mean it's closed? Is the SR-22 blocked off by rangers or police?

They can’t close SR78, S2 or S22 or any of the paved roads traversing the county. Those are vital supply lines to the desert communities.

They can close all the dirt roads or trails into the park from the paved roads as well as pullouts and parking and are likely to enforce the closures.

    Just my best guess.

Thankfully still have the Harley I can take out! Sitting at home all day drives me nuts
This is true. I was on the 78 yesterday and am taking the bike out for a ride tomorrow up the 79 through Julian and it is all still very open. Sunrise highway is open as well and they are still actively doing road work on it.

    Copied from the park webpage:

We love sharing Anza-Borrego with you, but . . . we can’t risk sharing COVID-19!

So for now, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is CLOSED to all camping and to ALL vehicular traffic, even on dirt roads.

Please stay home, shelter in place, and help flatten the curve of COVID-19 infection. It is up to all of us to do our part to control the spread and keep everyone healthy.

Is anyone interested in going somewhere else? I’m open to suggestions.

    Pilot Rock
    Cleghorn
Other easy to moderate trails in Big Bear?
Red Canyon Jeep Trail (resently went there with @Norsemanvike)
For those in the LA area: Hungry Valley

    Thoughts?

I don't think Red Canyon would be closed as there are no gates anywhere on that trail.

Pilot Rock is a nice easy trail. I believe it's 2wd friendly. There are off shoots that are differently 4wd. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
