According to the San Bernardino National Forest website, Pilot Rock and Cleghorn trails are open. It appears that state parks such as Anza Borrego are closed but not national forests and their trails.

I’m down for either of those. Those are not that hard if you stay on the main trail. They do have lots of fun off chutes for those that want to try them but those are more difficult and more technical.

By the way, for those who are still interested, is the 11th of April ok?

I’ve done pilot rock but not cleghorn. If we go I’m thinking we should get an early start. With every thing closed I’m guessing it’s going to be crowded.
Easter is the 12th so I’m down for the 11th.
    Stay safe everyone.

I agree. I think it will be really crowded. I’m on for the 11th if we an early meet (as in 7:00 am early).

I’m also down to try trails further out in the desert. I know it’s a longer drive but I’d be ok with it if other people are interested.

Looks like we’re getting some rain this week maybe a little bit of snow above 5K. Is there still interest in going up to Cleghorn or Pilot Rock?
    I would still go.

I saw a post shared in one of my FB groups that Rangers are up on Cleghorn giving out $400 tickets if they run into you. I couldn't find other sources to back it up but wanted to let you guys know just in case

I believe it is part of the San Bernardino National Forest, and the Front Country Ranger district

Spent a little time doing some looking and it looks like Cleghorn and Pilot Rock are both managed by the San Bernardino USFS district. There website does not list either roads as closed.
If anyone has more information please share it with us.

Yeah, that's why I'm unsure as to whether or not it's for real. I didn't see those roads listed on the USFS site when I checked earlier. I also don't have $400 just lying around in case it is true.

I tried calling a few # but no one answered. I’m trying to get some solid info and if I do I’ll pass it along.

Its really lame we cant even drive somewhere we want to and not even congregate. I rode my motorcycle up to Julian last weekend with a couple of co-workers and a Sheriff officer rolled through town and threatened to write us all 1K tickets if we didn't leave.

Dammit. The part that sucks is the gov taking liberties away. I'm sure your riding your bike your 6 feet apart.
Makes me want to get out even more.
