Hi knowledgeable folks at TW, I'm in the process of adding aux battery and have (3) 6ga wire going to the bed of the truck. I was wondering if this is a secure spot to route the wire or should I find another way. Thanks in advance for your input!

I ran something smaller in a loom for 12v constant power in the bed. Just followed the frame and anything else that was there to tie it into. If you think that spot is gonna chafe or flex, don’t do it. My question is why the battery in the bed, no space under the hood?

Thank you! I followed the frame and carefully routed the wire away from the cat converter and exhaust and ended up in this spot. It doesn’t look like it’s going to flex since there’s 2 points where it’s bolted from the bed to frame. At least I hope it doesn’t.. It’s a lithium battery, hence, I need it in the bed.

I am wondering if that can be a pinch point when/if the frame and body flex. That doesn't look like a sudden death or anything that will tear or break quickly. I try to avoid going through tight spots.

I kept mine inside the frame and on the drivers side. Over the gas tank was a long moment. I think I had to feed it through 2 or 3 time in that spot.

I might have to take all these out and put it on the other side of the frame near the exhaust with a heat shield. I would rather do it once and not have to worry about it again.

I was thinking the same way too but ended up going to the passenger side route since it has a more open space and can route the wire away from the cat converter, but got stuck on how to thread the wire up the bed. Driver side has more components and is tighter but opens wide in the rear..

I myself tend to think about my own sketchy wiring projects. And sometimes redo them. I also have a fire extinguisher on hand. I ran the power for an air compressor under the passenger seat, under the truck, to the engine bay loaded that one with heat shield. And the 12v constant on the other side. Both got loom and vinyl tape the whole length.

I did the same to link my LiPo4 battery to my main battery. I simply followed OEM wiring, tying my cables to that for security.

In the rear I crossed over the under the tailgate area to get to the bed cubby. Tucked it up with what wires are already there. Have you done the tailgate lock?
