oops, edited! I'm planning on taking out 1 leaf from the front but I think I will still need to lift the rear about 2.5 more inches.

And picked up some 63" Chevy leaf springs.
These are going to need some good cleaning and paint before they go on.
I went to go pull a pair from the yard that looked a little better than these ones and after I got under to unbolt them I realized that one side had a leaf pack like these (3+1) and the other side had a 4+1 leaf pack. It confused the heck out of me for a minute and I swore I couldn't count. Maybe chevy struggles with leaning to one side too?

Started cleaning up the 63's tonight have a long ways to go, but it's a start. The leaves seem to still have a good arc to them and are cleaning up well.

Also, got the axles a little bit further along. Both sides have the axle shafts and Longfields installed. Getting closer!

Thanks! I'm getting pretty excited myself...

This weekend @Ghost. and I tore it down to the knuckle balls and ground them out to clearance the Longfields. That took us 3.5 hours that I should have done before putting it all together. Sorry, didn't grab pics.

Do they fit and spin nice now?

I like toyota axles, but man are they a PITA to service and inspect as opposed to an open knuckle design.

Yeah they spin really nice now! What a PITA though. Why can't someone design a slightly different setup so not to paint, check, grind 5 times a side (I guess other axles do just that). Before it was spin, clunk, spin when wheels were straight, but when at sharper turning angles I couldn't even spin the rotor on one side.

    Regarding setting steering stops:
I upgraded to the Trail Safe knuckle ball wiper seals so I just set the steering stops when the seals contact the non curved part of the knuckle ball?

On your Chevy 63 question, I did 3 Chevy leafs with a cut down Wagoneer leaf and an add a leaf I had from the toyota pack with a 6 inch eye to shackle and that put my rear slightly higher than the front. Haven't driven it yet but we will see how it rides.

I originally had a 5 and half inch shackle on the rear and going up half an inch actually made pretty big of a difference with the Wagoneer leaf. I wouldn't go any longer than a 6 inch shackle. I had a 6 and half one it was just way to long.

Awesome. I bought a 6" shackle because I want lift but not too crazy. Hopefully it'll work out well.

Yeah and I just mentioned it in my thread but is kind of important, since I frenched my front hanger for the rear in, I had to add leafs to the rear and take leafs out of the front. I think if I would have just mounted the hanger on the bottom of the frame, I wouldn't have needed to add any.

Sorry for double posting this stuff. I'm sure it'll be easier to find here then search for it. I spent a lot of time in the garage searching for things on my phone because I didn't save them in the beginning.

Yeah I am definitely not going to french the spring hanger in, I want to be a little taller than you, but not crazy high. Hopefully I won't need to add a lot of helper springs.

On a side note I saw a rig GTF built recently with the rock assault axle sitting on 41.5's. Linked and it was sitting sooo talk.

For tonight I got all IFS out except the driver LCA, but who cares I'll cut the brackets out tomorrow.

Rack removed and looks pretty good, both inner tie rods were significantly worn though.

Front Diff removed and the oil was still looking like new. Looking to sell that one, fresh 4.56 gears installed about 15 months ago.

    And some pics I took.
