Those holes are way smaller than the ones you drilled. I think you went too far down on the step bit and went to a bigger hole!

    Right in the feels man.

OP, you could always bondo it back up, sand and touch up paint it. You'll always see it but at least it won't look totally F'ed.

    That sucks dude.

Bondo would just fall off. Not meant to bridge a span with no backing.

This is the definition of sucks.

Nut Serts flatten out, they will go in and out of the hole you drilled unless you use the tool to squish them down and lock them into place... you don't just insert the riv nut then walk away...

just put some duct tape over it and move on.

I have a feeling this wont be the last diy oops on that truck, so after a few months no one will even notice it

I wouldn't even care so much about the cosmetic part if I could redrill about a cm up and the bracket itself would cover the silicone filled failure holes...

BUT IF I FOLLOW WHAT THE EXPERTS AT CALIRAISED SAY, I WILL GET THE SAME RESULT. FUCK!

also, not a single reputable shop in town that does this... I would've had a pro do it from the beginning...

Could try angling a wing-nut on the inside, tossing some JB weld to hold the nut and then screwing in the screw that came with it. The wings should give some leverage for the screw provided to hold everything in place.

For example, use the wing-nut and a different screw together, angle it inside the hole, put some JB weld and let it sit then unscrew it from the wing-nut and then place the bracket on carefully and tighten with the screw provided.

Don't drill anymore holes, you're going to weaken the structure more.

Dude... I feel for you. I cut some wires for and LED light and watched videos scoured the instructions, then sat under the truck for 10 minutes with some wire cutters. I did it right but the heart attack that came with the cut was painful.

I cant imagine how shitty this is.

JB Weld the holes and sell the light bar to the nearest Raptor Bro...give him the drill bit for free.

Fill the holes with Devcon plastic steel, sand it, and paint. Learn from your mistake and move on.
