    4.56 gears, rear trutrac,DT header, 235/85r16 Duratracs, 2nd filter pulled, inter.wipers, Cruise control, Factory alum. whls/winter tires(2nd set), Afe pro Dry-S , Dumbo eared flaps cut down.
    My old dakota with 3.9 axle and 235 /75/15 was 1900rpm at 65mph if i recall, maybe 2000, my 3/4 ton silverado was 2200@65, my dad's expedition is 1800 at 65 and tall 3 towed great too. But honestly I like my Taco, doin 65 at 2400 means nothing, each vehicle is what it is. Mine is 3500 lb rated, but I didn't buy it to tow.

    The OP said his is 3k at 75, I'm still wondering whats up with that.

    What tsb? Cause I'm at like 65 at close to 2.5k. At that speed I get 21ish when I do cc at 55 I get over 25mpg

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    TSB only applies to the Auto tranny. You also have 4:10 rear gears, so that will keep your rpms a little higher than an auto with a V6.

    Just for kicks and grins what does the tsb do? Change gears or something?

    I want a TSB some day. You 4.0/auto guys talk about em a lot so I guess you like them , right?:D

    the 5 speed manuals have a 0.805:1 overdrive...the 5 speed auto has a 0.71:1.....so with the 6 lug gearing the high rpms make sense...(6 lug's 3.72)

    the 6 speed does take the cake at a 0.84:1

    i used to rev around 2K at 60 but not anymore....:(

    my 6 lug is factory 4.1 axle.
    The .805 5th gear makes sense since I'm around 2400 in 5th but 3000 in 4th.
    4th is smooth though, you can forget you are in it on the freeway and not in 5th, a bit of a noisy interior doesnt help there.

    yes and with the 2TR you need those RPMs...i roll at around 1600 RPM at 55...hills suck...big time. i really need to regear:mad:

    Ok....For some reason I had it written down the 5 speeds had the same 5th ratio. But......the rear IS a 3.73 on the V6's ;)

    TRD cat back exhaust, rain visors, limo tent on back pasenger windows and 35 percent added to back factory tint window. 35 on front driver and pasenger side. Sport pedals, all weather fl mats, roof rack, front skid plate , BFG ALL TERAINS including spare. ALL installed by dealer.

    That is way too high. I would have it checked. I have an Automatic and at 70 I am right at 2000 and at 75 it is like 2200-2300. Are you sure you have it all the way in sixth gear?

    Different ratios for the Auto vs. Manual. The manual 6 speed WILL have the engine reving higher than the 5th gear in the auto.

    the trans is fine in my truck and the same thing happens. i thought it was a prob, so i had the trans checked and a new clutch put in. The truck ran the same...

    Hi guys, it’s an old thread I know but I wanted to let you k of this. I have an 05 Tundra with the 4.0 and 6MT. It has 245/70r16 tires and a 4.08 rear diff and it turns 2600rpms @65mph. Pretty high rpms and it is actually only rated for 5200lbs towing, compared to Tacoma’s 6500lbs.
