i pulled my 198 v series skiff today and it pulled fine. My question is running at 65-70mph it was staying at almost 3000rpm. I will tow this boat up to 4 hrs one way about once-twice a year. Is that anything to be concerned about mechanically? I’m not worried about the fuel. 2014 4.0 v6 4wd

    What engine and transmission?
2WD or 4WD? What gear were you in?

    How fast where you going?
    70-75mph?

I am going to guess you were in 4th gear.

    Will it hurt anything?
Well, this guy drove for 3 years in nothing but 4th gear.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/driving-my-truck-in-4th-gear-verses-drive-mode.429795/

I’ve driven my truck at 70-75 mph in 4th, but would wouldn’t say I was doing it for hours at a time.
Honestly, I look at how the truck is shifting. If it shifts a lot, or the TC is Locking/Unlocking, I drop a gear.

Asian motors like to rev. Both the 4banger or the V6 will be happy turning at 4k RPM all day long. Even at night too
