Yeah, I should have mentioned that I did the drilling just because. They were solid before. No movement with me standing on them at all.

Even without drilling, they're still advertised as being strong enough to use as a hi-lift point. So they're most definitely strong enough to stand on

Oh sorry. Forgot we need to worry about everyone’s feelings on how “constructive feedback” is provided.

How hard can these really be to install? I'm deployed and mine are waiting for me when I get home. I've never installed sliders before but I feel like I could write the instructions right now...

    1. Line up holes in slider with holes in frame.
    2. Insert bolts into holes and attach nuts
    3. Monkey that shit down tight and go crush rocks.

Am I missing something? I'm the guy that always threw away the Legos instructions and built whatever the hell I wanted that kinda resembled the picture on the box, so it's very possible that I'm missing something.

Yeah, I also don’t understand the need for instructions. I installed sliders, winch bumpers and rear bumpers on my Jeep XJ without instructions and I had to drill for those sliders. It’s not rocket science.

Got mine in and installed, see for yourself. :drunk: They are pretty nice, definitely for the price, thanks Ray. Overall mounting them was fairly straightforward, but did have small hiccup, I'll explain: when drilling in bottom of frame for one of holes my drill bit broke off inside the frame and remains stuck inside. Still working on removing that, any suggestions welcome. But aside they are mounted and pretty sturdy if I say so myself, just can't use hi-lift. Additionally, there was a small piece of the the powder coat missing upon arrival but they are on the tacoma to do a job and its not a pretty one so a small imperfection isn't a big deal. Thanks again RRW.

Why do you think you couldn't use a hi-lift? RRW says they're fine for a hi-lift point

Oh, because the bit broke. That's right. That makes sense, I thought he was worried about quality or something at first

Yeah but I ordered a diamond plated drill bit to try to grind thru so hopefully, fingers crossed, I can finish bolting everything down solid.

    Bunch of stuff
Drill bits are brittle. If you can take a small screw driver, small chisel, or an awl and use a hammer you can more than likely break it apart and it’ll fall out. I’ve done it many times

Again, it’s about design strength. How many bolts needed per design to achieve design strength? For example the “line up the holes” approach puts more bolts on the passenger side than on the drivers. In fact, if I do zero drilling and don’t move the brake line brackets there are no new bolts used on the driver side at all. Is that per design or inadequate?
