Why are these so expensive now? They were a solid option when they were sub $650 with free shipping but $850 now?

You're better off going w a different company. I emailed them to get exact lead times on the diy sliders so I wasn't getting fucked around, I was quoted 1-2weeks, I ordered may 7th and still not here. I'm trying to cancel so I can buy local

I’ve heard that a few times with RRW. I don’t trust them, certainly think I’d be going with a different company even if their new wheels look rad

It's a bummer man. But if they were upfront from the beginning, who knows how it would have played out. Now I feel like the idiot actually believing homeboys email. Got a quote, next day ordered, then production mysteriously unraveled on multiple fronts 2 weeks later.

Did they ever address the issue with the rusty sliders ? Makes me regret buying my wheels from them. I will say this when I initially bought my wheels I wanted the black set first which was out of stock then one of their reps told me the matte bronze was in stock which was the last set. I ordered them then was told there would be a 12 week wait on them even after the rep was the one that told me the bronze were in stock! After a few emails my 12 weeek wait turned into tracking number update. Still waiting on center caps tho

The lack of response on here is quite interesting. A new customer looking through their products could be very hesitant to deal with them.. Because I sure am.

this seems to be par for the course for them, unfortunately. I had issues when I bought a set of their wheels early on, and if you read through the first 50 pages of this thread, its mostly people talking about production quality, lack of accountability, and missing lead time quotes by a long shot.

Bums me out that a company with products that look really cool isn't run well. Who ever is in charge of the product aesthetics should take their talent to a better managed company.

Update, haven't been on in a while but here are my sliders after the first winter....20200604_142932.jpg

    Powdercoating sucks on these.
Nothing Rustoleum couldn't fix but you shouldn't have to so soon...

Just finished up a set of DIY sliders for 3rd gen Tacoma. They went fairly well, but all of the mounting hardware they sent with them does not work. 6 out of the 19 bolts they sent were able to be used As well as the bracket that goes in the cross member is junk and pulls out so the slider doesn’t even sit flush with the crossmember. Going to Lowe’s tomorrow to get my own hardware.

I personally wouldn’t buy from here again, They look great but there’s better out there...

Also, it’s a lot of fab work so I understand why other company’s charge a decent amount for their pre built sliders.

    Hey gents!

I'd like to add my experience with RRW's V3 sliders.

I would appreciate some solid recommendations on what hardware to purchase to install them since my order DID NOT come with any hardware.

    My experience:

I ordered the sliders on January 29th and received them this last Friday May 14th. I'll let y'all do the math on the lead time.

Communication with the company was not too bad. Yes it takes them a few days to get back to you, but Michael over at RRW did always respond to my messages and at least kept me in the loop.

The shipping company is another matter. RRW works with Pilot Freight Services and if I was RRW, I would not be doing any more shipping with them. I notified RRW that I was taking off on vacation and would not be available to receive the shipment this month (May). So RRW placed a note on my order and notified Pilot of this situation. Not only did Pilot disregard the note, they didn't even schedule a delivery window for me to receive the sliders. I was EXTREMELY fortunate to be at home at the time that Pilot showed up out of nowhere to my shock. Additionally, the delivery guys weren't driving any official pilot truck, rather one of those leased trucks that you can get if you call the number on the side of the truck.

The sliders were delivered out of the box as you can see in the pictures. The boxes did not hold well during shipment. As mentioned above, I did not receive any hardware with the order. Many guys on here have hinted at upgrading the hardware that comes with the sliders anyways, so I would appreciate any recommendations from any of the guys who have upgraded their hardware.

The powdercoat on the sliders looks ok for a $90 job (you get what you pay for). I see some scratches that were probably caused during delivery. Based on what I'm seeing, I would not be surprised if I had to re do the powdercoat sometime in the future.

Once I return from vacation, I will have the time to install the sliders and provide some additional feedback.

    Thanks all!

I really like the look of these sliders better than any others but I'm skeptical of the welds and powder coating.
Are they available in bare metal? I'd like to have them custom coated with bed liner.

    Anybody have any hardware recommendations?

I still have not had any word from RRW so basically these sliders are just sitting in my garage collecting dust until I figure this out.

    Thanks.

    Bunch of stuff
This is a recommendation based of off what I provide for the sliders that I build. If the holes allow, use 1.5” long 1/2” diameter grade 8 bolts. The thread size is 1/2”-13. Use 1/2” ID flat washers on the nut side, along with grade 8 nylock hex nuts (1/2”-13 thread)

Each one of these bolts has roughly 15,000 lbs of shear strength. They won’t go anywhere with this hardware

Not sure why people are willing to compromise quality just to save a few bucks. There are companies out there like SSO, RCI, and Westcott Designs that have far superior products with better customer service at the same time. Blows my mind that someone would ship sliders with no hardware or guidance on what to buy yourself.

PS. You also have guys like Shmell that try and remedy other peoples poor decisions when he is a competitor. Props for trying to help these people that got screwed.

Overall aesthetics plays a big part in which sliders people buy. Customer service and quality don't mean jack if they look like ass.
RRW sliders are probably the best LOOKING sliders out there, imho. Somebody needs to provide the quality and service while duplicating them, exactly. I would suggest a little beefier size pipe also.

Not saying are wrong, but that is sad if people actually make that their top priority when selecting something like sliders. Have they ever seen Westcott Designs? Talk about high quality. The “look” of these welds scream poor quality. How is that rust “looking” now because of a horrible PC job? Might look okay in brand new photos but rust and cracked welds don’t look great.

I totally concur. The welds look like a b s o l u t e crap. Bedliner will hide a lot of that though. No WAY would I buy these powder coated.
