So my understanding on these type of fabrications/products, is that the profit margin is really thin.

How are you able to sell these for so cheap, when most other quality sliders are about a couple hundred more? Are you guys taking a loss on the initial orders, and then charging more for them later on? what's going on?

Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to have a set of high quality slider and save some money, just wondering how they can be sold for this cheap.

Could be promo pricing to get their name out there. They did mention they’re going back up to normal price in a week or two.

That's my hope. i'd love to grab a set of good sliders, and save money. I wonder what their full/normal price is?

Also, @RayRRW, I'm local, would I save any money on shipping, if I could come pick them up?

    HREW tube vs DOM...

And judging by the mounting system, they do not seem to be nearly as robust as most of the competition.

I'm sure they'd be fine for casual wheelers who are looking for that "just incase" kind of protection but I don't think I would want to be beating on these much.

This is what I'm worried about. I'm a "casual" wheeler, but if I'm going to put sliders on, I want them to be able to handle almost anything. I don't want to waste money on something that won't protect me in most cases. I'll never intentionally beat the shit out of my truck, but I want to be prepared for a hard hit if it happens accidentally.

If you're worried about it, quit being cheap and buy the Mobtowns. :p No dollar sign on a piece of mind...

haha, those are the ones I was leaning towards. Have been waiting for a sale, but none in the near future, according to them. Saw this post and was hopeful that maybe I could get something almost as good, get it sooner, and save a bunch of money.

Couple pages back they posted the improved design that they’re sending out. Additional tube to reinforce the kickout and gussets. Can be used with hi lift if you drill the additional holes.

Compare the section that mounts to the frame to the other major competitors--there's no comparison and explains where a bit of the increased costs of the other brands come into play.

There again (not at all an intention to poo on their product), but judging by the quality of the welds (or lack there of), I'll pass.

So you have to drill holes to get it to be strong enough to use with a hi-lift??

So you’ve reviewed the calcs? That’s a pretty serious indictment unless you’ve seen more than photos.

Tell me where you have read anything about steel classification, yield strength, deflection limits, etc. on this product.

This thread is now chock full of misinformation. The answer is no at least according to the manufacturer.

"No" as in, you can use them with a hi-lift as they are?

It would be nice if the company rep, @RayRRW could chime in and give us the official information. I hate to have wrong, speculative, information floating around.

It can support the weight of the truck anywhere along the slider without drilling according to RRW.

I was sent an email when I asked for the status of my order. (My mistake, reread the email, there were 21 people who placed their order before me.)
