Not at all, just puff some graphite powder or spray some lube on the locks. Some people here are making lock covers and RSI is upgrading the locks. In my opinion no other cap comes close to the specs of RSI, sure there is RLD (boxy looking...), Alucab...(I personally don't like the nipp and tuck welds)...
RSI has the strength and look that I think it's the best of the bunch...I won't even go the fiberglass ones...

I must’ve missed that all I saw was the magnetic one which I think is going to fly off or easily stolen.

I found it it’s what I get for not being on here every day. Probably a good thing.

I definitely want both, however let me think on this and wait to see when RSI responds to email if I could buy the driver side door alone. But also if any other DCSB EvoA owner in SoCal wants to trade a single side Driver's door I'd do it too haha. I will let you know!

I’m out in vegas and would trade a evo-a door with you if you ever drive out here.

I just had my first “frozen lock” and will note that it has nothing to do w/ the lock itself, the latch completely iced over and the lever wouldn’t operate. Even my tailgate was frozen to the seal on the back lift panel so I couldn’t get in through there either.

I think they only long term solution are these covers.

That being said, to the person you commented to…. This shouldn’t prevent you from purchasing this shell over others IMO, it’s still the better option over fiberglass for looks (subjective) and durability.

Some folks were saying the clamps on their RSIs in the center being torqued to the specifications are bending the rail. With these you can put rubber underneath where the clamp point is on the bed rail and it won’t bend because it reaches further and there’s more support from the rubber under it.

I found it interesting that the 2nd gen and 3rd gen don’t have the same clamping system despite the same rails etc. the 2nd gen uses a standard clamp for canopies as the one you linked I believe.

I actually (hard to believe for me) didn’t use a torque wrench and just tightened the bolts until the split washer flattened. Then the following days I would snug down further holding the ratchet at the head, this prevents me from over tightening with more leverage (I have a problem knowing when enough is enough so this is how I control it). The rails aren’t bowed for me doing this. I’ll check again if I need to snug them down soon, it’s been a week or so.
