I wish I did this before the fiberglass cap. 2 -3 yrs in sag was bad imo, lost all factory rake. Put in a 3leaf aal to get back what I lost and added the sumo to help minimize/decrease future sag… at least it was done before the evoA swap

I’ve got a 3” front lift and 1.5” rear add a leaf. I was planning on getting a heavy duty leaf pack anyway since I’ll be loading up the bed and moving our RTT to the smartcap. Those could still be a good idea, thanks!

I’ll have to look into the Sumo Springs. I have the TRD OEM lift. Hopefully my EVO Sport will be here soon. Estimated arrival was late February/early March. Installed bed stiffeners last week in preparation.

Like the cap have some leaking at the tailgate I need to sort out. But even my Leer leaked around there. 2.5" upfront with fox and 1.5 icon aal sits nice and level.

from this angle you don’t look like you’re sitting level.

what happens in the rear when you add gear and cargo? I’m running a canopy, RTT and decked system with gear so roughly 550 lbs with stage 3 RXT Icons and i rake slightly and sit perfectly.

i don’t think you want to sit level with just a canopy IMO; ymmv

With my fishing and camping gear few hundred pounds it sits nicely. If I did more than I would squat. In the future I'm going with a HD leaf pack.

With the RSI and about 250 pounds of tools/gas at the front of the bed, the stock suspension looks about level. However, add any more than that and the squat is obvious (or shift the weight towards the rear). As I do not want to lift more than 2 inches (and would prefer only lifting 1 inch) I will probably end up with a custom leaf pack.

Wouldn’t the ideal stance with a canopy installed, to be slightly higher in the rear, so whenever weight is added you are sitting flush? And what are these custom leaf pack set ups people are referring to? Most leafs come in stages based on weight requirements…how does one build a custom leaf pack?

You set it up for the look and the weight that you're caring. For me I don't carry a whole lot of weight so having a level looks nice in my opinion.

Deaver will make a leaf pack to your specs. If you want to haul 500 pounds in the bed at factory ride hight they can make you a pack to achieve that. Basically if a none custom pack does not achieve what you want, you can have one made.

Haven’t followed along so not sure what you have added/done but if your level now with the canopy then you will sag regardless of any added weight or not in a matter of time. To help with that you might look into sumosprings bump stops so at least when ever you do add weight the sumo will help minimize the sag.

I personally like the factory rake and never really understood the need for so many to get a “level” look- normal wear and tear things will sag and get you the Cali or is it carolina squat, adding weight will do the same. I sagged after 1-2 yrs so I added a 3leaf aal to gain my loss and the sumo to help keep it under load

this was the point i was trying to make. If you add a couple hundred pounds to a rig that is level, you will sag.

I have a Icon 3 aal and timber active off road bumps. I have added about 300 lbs in the bed with out any sag. i only run that much weight a few time a year. down the road will be getting some deavers.

Got my RSI installed today at @Mike's Custom Toys. Loving the cap so far!

Great service and communication from everyone at the shop. They also installed a heavier leaf pack since I usually have a RTT and pack heavy for trips.
