I was kicking myself for not finding a bad looking "cap"... because even the one I posted on that plain Jane Taco looked pretty good. Yours looks down right badass. I love the utilitarian look... hense I like RSI, RLD and your cap, over the fiberglass alternatives.

Without knowing the price, I like this option the best.

This should give you an idea of what one costs. Was actually going to go this route before I got the RLD but they wouldn’t tell me what the weight limit is even with the extra reinforcing. I carry a lot of weight on my topper (tent, awning, Roadshower, gas, etc) so I couldn’t take a chance that it wouldn’t support the weight I planned on putting on it. Otherwise the Tradesman was the route I would have taken. Great functioning topper that also looks great.

I agree the doors on the long bed doesn’t look right. I would have expected them to go the full length. So if you were to get the full bin or kitchen would it only go the length of the door or would it go the length of the canopy and just both ends of the cabinet would be covered up?

Thanks. I do like their cap, but it may be out of the budget. I also read that freight to the east coast was $1500. Yikes!

Sorry but not a fan. That looks really bad in my opinion. They should have spent more time on the long bed look.

I mean you’re paying $4k. I think aesthetics always comes into play. Especially with that kind of cash.

What did you spray your patches with? Do you need to do this each winter or is it a one and done application?

Edit: sorry, I see it’s already been answered.

Right there with you on the windows opinion. This is the canopy for me, but think I’ll wait for a minor design change before putting cash down. After locks (inside access), length (looks like it may be fixed for long beds) and Side windows, this will be perfect for me.

Should have asked this awhile ago, but can the RSI rack options be added at a later time or do they have to spec'd when ordering?

The RSI caps come with intregrated t-slot rails. You can add the RSI racks, cross bars, bins, kitchen, etc at any time. Free shipping within the lower 48 states on ALL of those items will likely come to an end by 10/31.

Spotted this Smart cap on a 3rd gen DCSB, it doesn’t look like a very good match to the body lines, especially when compared to the 1st gens next to it.

Funny- I think the opposite when I look at that photo- but then I have an RSI and part of why I liked it is it didn't pretend to integrate into the lines of the truck. I don't want to drive a jelly bean.

@tcriley08 not yet but I’ve been eyeing their half shelf for work gear (hard hat, vest, ppe) since before I ordered mine

I have the Alu-Cab Explorer Canopy right now but have been keeping a eye on the RSI. I love the addons for the Alu-Cab like slide in table, Kitchen Knitting, and storage. Hoping to see some pictures when someone buys their accessories.

The main gripes I hear about the kitchen are cost, space lost in the bed, and if you have a lift it becomes difficult to use...but damn do I think it’s cool lol!

I like my Kitchen Knitting in the Alu-Cab and surprisingly the lift doesn't really bother me when grabbing stuff out of it, and I'm pretty short. The RSI def Kitchen looks a lot better than Alu-Cab though IMO. Just hoping the function is as good as the form.

You mean an alloy cap doesn't look as contoured as a fiberglass cap? No way!!! Lol.
