I've had the cap for a season now and I've opted out of drilling or screwing with the latches since new ones are eventually...... coming. Every solution I drew up seemed janky and would have leaks or rust issues (the latches collect water in them). So, what works very well in the interim, and that a lot of people here do is lock the latches while they are open. If you do this they cannot be closed and latched on you while sleeping, I've had people try.

If your stealth camping in an urban area it looks bad, I would say maybe try your plan. But otherwise if your boondocking in the NF/BLM or even in a barely used parking lot where you can sleep, it works perfectly well done it many many times.

New latches are supposedly coming... soon...?

I originally was thinking I wanted a sport, but the A with solid doors and MOLLE panels, far better IMO as it's more utilitarian and secure. I don't carry the dogs in the bed, so no need for windows. If you change your mind, I'll make you a deal.

yep sounds like the options ill have. Just hate entertaining even the possibility of being locked in there! I see posts like 2 years old saying new latches soon. thinking of getting the rubber flap covers, and drilling may be the way to go.

If you buy an Adventure I'd be interested in maybe swapping one window for a hard side.

I thought about doing this too. I have an adventure on order. Hopefully I will get in the next month or two. If I decide to go this route, I will let you know.

Anyone with an EvoA looking to trade their passenger side door for an EvoS windoor?

I've successfully traded another member for their driver side. I will ship the passenger to you, then you ship back using the same packaging. Shipping is between $150-200 via UPS depending on distance between us -- I'll pay shipping to you and you return the favor when shipping to me.

I've got a longbed and the person I traded has a shortbed, they are fully interchangeable. Let me know!

That's exactly what I was thinking also. It'd get me through until the new latches were ever released/available.

If I can find a proper plug, maybe I'll sacrifice a latch for research and post the results up here. My main concern would be the (cast?) handle parts possibly being brittle and cracking while being drilled.

Seems like waiting is the name of the game. also considered making a little steel arm extender so i can reach both latches from the window

I’ve kept this close to the vest but figured it was time to share- let’s talk lock covers.

This is not able the interior unlocking locks, just the covers. We already know we were told soon or in production, then those diy/hack covers were born. Before that though I did a deep dive to find the manufacture of these locks and inquire directly (wasn’t easy with little/no info). Was told they were in production as we already knew but I kept in contact with this rep. A month back I was sent pictures of the covers and they had some on hand. I then contacted the rsi rep with pictures of the covers and asking for an update from them but apparently the diy covers that they acquired and sent out was their fix (i guess they were tired of waiting on the real deal) and was no longer concerned or interested in the true covers. I always thought the hack covers was a temp solution so he said he’ll take it up the ladder. Didn’t hear anything for a month and didn’t think anything would happen on that end so I was waiting on the lock manufactures next batch to buy direct but then rsi rep reached out yesterday basically saying they were to acquire some covers and send to the states to disperse.

Up to you to check status/make request or if you want to just buy from the manufacture Pm me for my rep contact (Covers are cheap direct at roughly 10$ for 6 but shipping was going to be like 75-80$)

Anyone have a thread size for the inside top of the topper where I assume the table mounts to? I tried a few bolts including metric but couldn't find anything that threaded more then a few turns. Their website only tells the dimensions of the table, not the included hardware or spec sheet.
