So, I had my smart cap on for 1 week before I got rear-ended. Wasn't too bad for damage as it could have been a lot worse. On the interstate when the driver in front of me stops. 70 to 0. I was able to stop in without hitting her but got rear-ended and pushed me into the car in front.
So, what I noticed was the the force of the impact shifted the bed cover back about a 1/4 inch. Hoping the dealership will fix that when I take it in for the body repairs.
    Anyone have the same experience?

The crash force sheered the plastic tabs off of the bed cap. A new bed cap will fix it. Of course this will require removing the cap.

That's what I figured. I know that the clamps holding the cap to the bed are torqued to a certain spec. I'll need to check that when I get it back.

Anyone know if they sell mosquito nets to cover an open hatch? Or has anyone made one yet? Say if your truck bed camping and wanna leave the entire side door open for air/views.

I bought one of these a couple years ago for that exact reason. Currently $23.

In case that link disappears, it's a bug net that goes over patio umbrellas. I pulled the top pretty tight and tied it off, put that on top of the camper shell, then ran some nylon cord through the bottom of the net where the tube weight normally goes, so I could pull it tight to the truck body just below the camper shell, and I put the zipper centered over the tailgate so it could be used to get in and out like normal.
Edit: Found a picture. Doesn't look like I had strung the nylon cord through it yet but you get the idea.Camper Shell Bug Net.jpg

I've looked at a bunch of SUV rear hatch 'tents' when I think about a bed sleeping solution. Some of these solutions above seem to be workable - they are certainly better than most other products I've run into so far...

So far - it looks to me like the DACtent is the most practical. It provides good cover, can be easily opened closed, can have mosquito netting - or solid cover for privacy when sleeping / changing.

The topper tent is an interesting concept - but it is $$$ and misses the opportunity for that extra bit of room available if they covered the cap rear door within the cover which exteds the space essentially to the length of the open tailgate...

    - Certainly none of these can claim to be 'good looking'... (deary me!) but I'd need the tailgate open if I was to have any hope of any reasonable sleeep in the back.

We use a ground tent without issue; but if I was on my own (the only way I'd get any sleep in the small space!), having a quick set-up for sleeping in the back would be a nice option. (provided the bed is not full of gear!)

Then again, the ground tent is not that difficult or time consuming... I've only thought about it in extreme rocky / uneven terrain where a flat spot for a tent would require a bit of labor to achieve.

So far, I've only comitted to some shade / rain cover tarps (using tarp poles) to provide shade and cover. One large one and 2 small ones. These can provide privacy by acting as screens.

I have one piece I fabbed-up that hooks up to fittings on the cap and uses a flexible custom tent pole (for structure) which makes for a very lightweight shade structure. It basically acts as an awning, but I avoid carrying an awning around).

Based on their recommendation I’m guessing it is a full-size

it is the full. I was hesitant thinking it would be too big but it’s about right. It does leave some gaps near the tailgate but I used the bag it comes in to cover one of the gaps and a small garbage bag on the other side. It goes on really fast and seems to work well when a ground tent isn’t ideal. I now have an awning and haven’t used the tent since and may cut it along the upper seam and add Velcro so it can fit between the canopy and the awning.

    An idea - https://inspiredoverland.com/

Reasonably priced rtt, keeps the bed free for gear, is a robust option (watch their demo video).

I mounted my cap two days ago and got a big rainstorm yesterday. I found leaks along the front and rear flanges, anyone deal with this. I did use a torque wrench during assembly and I believe it was 4 or 5 ft lbs
