i ran a bed rack with a tent for a few summers. i would take them off for the winter. recently, i got an alucab shell and put the total chaos ones in before having the shell installed. i can't say if it was like this before, but the tops were definitely spread out a little more (there was more gap up top when the bottom was flush) and i had to sort of work them to get them to line up with the stiffeners.

honestly a little scary drilling through that metal.

I hear you. It feels like I could be voiding the bumper to bumper warranty by drilling.

When I was installing my total chaos stiffeners, I had to remove the OEM Toyota bed extender gate brackets which were drilled in the same piece of metal by the stealership itself. Granted, the holes were not as large in diameter.

I wanted to add the 3rd bar because the tent can hold 4 people.

Oof, just saw Offroad Alliance's est. shipping date for new Tacoma cap orders went from 2/12 to 2/29. Guess I have some more time to finally get the bed rack off.

The Tacoma caps are coming! And the really good news is that they'll have the new updated latches.

Are you able to confirm if the latches will be available separate from the 3rd Gen caps for purchase or warranty replacement?

@Sickoreo new latches not available for individual sale/replacement yet. We're being told likely March/April. As soon as we receive any additional updates or information, we'll let everyone know.

I picked up the rsi load bars on Saturday, and like I said I would do I stood in the middle of one of the bars. It flexed 3/4 to 1”, and that’s 175lbs right in the middle. With how the tents mount wide my 145lbs tent mounted on 2 bars near the roof rails I think anyone should be fine with 2 bar set up. That’s just my opinion.

My CVT Mt Washington is loaded on my RSi with an OVS 270 awning on the outside of the bars. Then I load surfboards and so forth.

I have never had an issue.

Status on the RSI website today. Not sure if this date reflects new orders or whether outstanding orders have been pushed back by a month.

I was installing my RSI Table to my Evo Sport 6Ft (Tacoma) and could only get 4 out of 8 total provided hardware to line up with the Table Bracket and the pre drilled holes on the RSI Smartcap. I searched and could only find that the table should be compatible with all smartcap types, so what gives?

    IMG20240217184426.jpg

Here you can see only 2 hardware being used per side, making 4 total hardware out of the 8 provided. No matter what orientation I put the bracket in, 1 hole is too far away and the other is covered up by the bracket. Towards the left you can see the silver pre drilled hole in the Smartcap for the table that is clearly way too far away.

    Any ideas on what gives?

So far I have the table just mounted with 4 screws instead of 8. Seems sturdy enough but just wondering if I am doing something wrong or is there some compatibility issues?

Stupid question, but I can't tell from the photo... is the release handle oriented toward the rear of the canopy?

    Who did you order from?

Yes, I believe the orientation is fine. The entire assembly works as it should and I can stow and unstow the table just fine. It just doesn't use all the hardware as it should from what it reads on the instructions.

Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or there is actually compatibility issues between different iterations of the SmartCap and the Stowaway table.

I got the table from Mike's Custom Toys and the cap from a dealer down in Southern California.

That's what they have done since I've been here watching them. Promise the cap, then push it back, over and over. I don't see how they can stay in business, unless they are killing it in the international market.
