Putting the sides into the roof you might be fighting the foam thickness a bit to seat fully- don’t use your palm to whack it, don’t lightly whack it straight with a rubber mallet with the gentlest intentions. Wrap a 1x with a microfiber or something to buffer from the paint and then whack it.

it’s not noticeable by anyone but me but 3 out of 4 corners have slight crater

Clean the glass for back of truck as well as cap before install. Likely hard to clean afterwards. Also retighten bolts after few weeks, especially if using the rubber seal.

Update: After a couple days of rain, I have not had any issues with leaking inside of the cap or inside of the latch. I think we're done with freezing temps in my area so I will have to wait until next year to see if the freezing issue has also been resolved.

RSI did end up sending me a second set of latches. These latches are much easier to close, albeit still require more force than the original set. This set also came with a bag that contain longer screws for the latch and for the arm.
    20240331_144511.jpg 20240331_144736.jpg

These the shorter screw with accompanying washers worked well for my cap (1st gen adventure) and I imagine later models may need the longer screws.

To swap all six latches took about 5minutes with only having one screw per latch.

The latches will still open from the inside even if it is locked, the internal mechanism is different from the lock it self.

Minor complaint is that there isn't a good satisfying click or noise made by the latch when you close it like there is with the original latch. It would be nice to have a positive feedback that the latch is closed.

I am getting a good bit of rain over the next few days so we will see if there is any issues with leaking in the lock or in the bed.

    Hey Everyone,

I managed to assemble the cap this weekend. I thought my son and I could handle lifting it on to the bed, but I was wrong. When we lifted the cap and brought it over to my truck, the D-rubber fell off one side, so I had to bring it back to the staging area. The adhesive on the D-rubber was contaminated with yard/road debris in the process, but I cleaned it with some IPA and was able to save the D-rubber. Couple of guys were walking by, so I asked if they wouldn't mind helping, and they happily obliged. Even with 4 adults, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park. I also broke one of the fastener blocks, but I can get a replacement for that.

So I need feedback regarding the D-rubber. Take look the attached picture of the D-rubber from the outside:

The left side of the pic shows how the D-rubber naturally seated itself on the truck. The right side is from me using a plastic prying tool to dig out the lip of the rubber. To me, the right side appears to be the correct way to install the rubber as the lip provides a 'shield' from the elements. The instructions are not specific about this.

    What do you guys think?

Adventure. Got it all assembled. Definitely possible to assemble by oneself, but a friend helps.

Yeah, my buddy that assisted with putting the front and back on thinks we can pull that off also. I feel that lifting it off the ground is easily doable. Now then lifting it to the bed height would be another story. Right now have to find a buyer for the bed rack that came with the truck so I can get it off and seal all the areas dust and water can get in.

My son and I never got the chance to place the cap on the bed before the D-rubber gasket came off the cap. I followed the directions per the manual and wiped the cap with isopropanol to clean area where the D-rubber makes contact. Still, the gasket came off, and landed on the lawn/pavement. Having 4 people definitely helps with the lifting, and also helps to keep the gasket in place.
