Thats Frontrunners Slimline II racks for the Smartcap and the Cab, you have to run the Slimline II for the cab in order to match heights, otherwise the Slimsport ends up sitting 1-2" lower than the Smartcaps Rack. There are racks for 5' & 6' depending on your bed length.

Sorry I didn't see my mention until just now, but off-road alliance nailed it. They sit almost perfectly level using the slimline II, although I am using the RSI load bars over the topper as I didn't want fitment issues.

RSI in the rear, Front runner slimline in the front. Matches great, frontrunner runs a little bit wider about an inch either side from RSI

Got my EVOa on this weekend. Only issue I have is that the tailgate hits the D rubber seal hard and it is difficult to close. I thought I saw a few posts about this in the thread about it having to do with the front to back position but all I found was one on page 65 that mentions cutting down the D rubber. Is that what everyone is doing?

I trimmed mine at an angle for a proper fit. See the the rubber match with the hatch rubber.

To reduce the wear (seem to work -hopefully), I close the tailgate first, then the hatch. - Open hatch first, then tailgate.

That's how I open and close to reduce wear as well.

In a slightly related question - can one drive 50-60 mph with the back hatch open? I can't find info via oogle or RSI FAQ. Have a short canoe that I'd like to load with tailgate up and hatch open rather than tailgate down. Thoughts? Thanks.

Does any know what the bolt size is that goes into the security screen fittings for the back window? I reached out to RSI and crickets.

I asked RSI the same thing a couple of weeks ago, and this was their reply:

    *******
Adding shims below each of the rear most spacer blocks will help reduce the friction when opening and closing the tailgate.

As a tip, shave off some of the D rubber directly above the tail gate, ensuring not to cut the rubber flap off. By doing this, the thickness of the D rubber is reduced which in turn will reduce the friction on the tail gate and make opening and closing a lot easier.

    I hope that this helps

    Kind Regards

I keep silicone spray handy and hit the gasket and top of the tailgate from time to time.

Smartcap most likely will suggest against it with the added strain on the hinges. If you do make sure you strap down the hatch the strut ends are not designed to be pulled against and the ends may come apart.

I would really love to have a window in my EvoC - do you guys think it would be possible to cut a large enough hole in one of the side doors to install a basic RV window with with a screen? Mostly looking for ventilaion/visibility when sleeping in the bed. Maybe there would be some issues sealing the window in place?

Out of curiosity, anyone ever drive with the gullwing doors open? If so, you must've gotten some strange expressions from onlookers.
