If I had it to do over I would probably go with one of the more conventional caps such as LEER. I liked the idea of the RSI because of the ability to customize and the weight.

The leaking seems to be coming into the small windows from both sides.

Hi, I got the Evo Adventure and I live in Oregon where it rains majority of fall/winter/spring. I haven't had any leakage problems with my cap. If I were to recommend a different capper, it would be a Leer!

Not sure where you purchased your cap, but your cap is under warranty. If you're windows are leaking, RSI will send you new parts to correct that issue. Your windows shouldn't leak. As for the load bars, those are hands down the most popular accessory. RSI can't get those things here fast enough to meet the demand. I can tell you load bars are coming in almost every container that arrives.

Regardless of where you purchased your cap, happy to help get you pointed in the right direction for the window issues.

I had the place where I bought it from install the cap, but can't believe they could have done something to cause the windows to leak. I have tried to see if there is a way to adjust the windows but can't seem to find a way to make them any tighter. Maybe I just got a lemon, it happens.

Agree it's unlikely the installer caused the issue it's likely the windows, weather stripping, molding, something else. Again, it's covered by RSI's warranty. If you got a 'lemon' fill out the warranty claim and RSI will get you replacement parts. These are expensive caps so take advantage of the cap being under warranty.

Those of you that have gotten your cap in the last week or so, have you had issues with the brake light harness? I will be assembling and installing mine tomorrow and want to know if it's worth it to fuss with that or not.

Yes. The third brake light wires are reversed. I have led tail lights and those require a three wire plug. The rsi harness only had two so the bottom trail light portion doesn't work. I got it last week

It's good to see the other side sometimes, thanks for sharing. My adventure leaks from rear brake light, just a bit, nothing like yours. Hope they fix it for you and make you whole.

I think everyone with a Gen 3 has suffered the wiring debacle, but they re working it. Never should have happened in the first place IMO.

So far, I'm in the pleased group - it's not your Dad's cap.

Should the smartcap fit flush to the rear tail or is there spacing from the cap to the rear tail? i installed mine today and i am not sure if i should push it back a bit to fill in the gap between the bed and cab? either way its a nice product, and solid!

Mine has a gap from the rear tail to cap but it’s because I preferred having less of a gap between the shell and my cab. I think it may be preference

Preference for sure. I judged mine by the gap in between the cab and cap. As long as the seal is on the bed rails, your good

Do you or does anyone have a good detailed write up covering the brake light wiring obstacle?

I had the same issue with the brake light, they sent me a harness for a 2 wire type when i needed a 3 wire. the Light blue wire is power and white/black is ground. I didnt want to modify but i figured it would take forever to get a new harness.

i cut of the off the sockets and just tied into my bulb harness. reminds me i need a new bulb i smacked mine by ac accident.

I needed a new harness and I had it in a few days after off-road alliance submitted the online warranty claim on my behalf.
