We certainly try! These incoming ocean containers aren't an exact science. There's lots of delays at the ports, clearing customs, delivery to the warehouse, prep for individual shipments, etc. Demand in incredibly high and supply is low. Current lead times for most caps are a few months out at a minimum. We're taking $100 deposits on most models for lead times that are exceeding 45/60+ days.

For anyone that has a cap and is struggling with any issues, please let us know what if anything we can do to assist. We work with RSI frequently so happy to help any way we can.

I second that off-road alliance is top notch. I’d definitely do business with them again.

There are containers arriving almost every month. They're all pre-sold at this point. So it really just depends on when you ordered and which cap you ordered. Any orders placed now are likely August/September for the Evo Sport and July/August for the Adventure. Orders placed last month or before are likely June/July for the Sport and similar for the Adventure. Again best estimates based on the limited information that we have.

Or an RLD. With either you don’t have to worry about the seams leaking as it’s a one piece design. Don’t really understand the modular design as is anybody really going to take it apart after it’s been put together? I doubt anybody has.

You can also order an RLD with any height you want. Don’t like the standard height and want a little more headroom for sleeping inside? Then you can add a few more inches to the height or whatever height you want. And you can also get these painted from the factory to match your truck. Something else RSI doesn’t offer. I think color matched to the truck would look better on most trucks. And would also create less heat inside than a black cap.

Not totally knocking RSI as it’s definitely a better option than any of the fiberglass caps. But there are other metal caps with more options and without the shortcomings some people have been complaining about with these RSI caps.

And has anyone taken one apart after assembling and installing it? If so why? Just wondering why someone would do this and wouldn’t that cause even more wear and tear on the gaskets?

RSI gets too hot. Not ideal for those who live in the southwest as I do. If you have dogs and they ride in the bed, not a good idea. Alu-cab has the same weight ratings as RSI and others. I love mines

I haven't had any issues with my EVO A since i had it installed professionally. My Tacoma being a long bed, RLD was out of the picture due to the 2 doors on each side of the canopy. It was down to the alucab and RSI. I went RSI because of the window that slides open against the cab, which alucab doesnt offer as an option. I live in the PNW and really hope i dont has any leaks happen, but after owning it for 3 months i havent noticed a single drop - not even when i was the truck.

FYI- you can order a long bed RLD with a single door/window on one or both sides.

Finally got my prinsu mounted to the rsi. I had to put some fender trim on the bottom side of the side rails because the side doors wont clear the rack.

Can't wait to get the tent mounted up on the rack.

IN a reply to my own shortcomings I'd like to add Locks for another reason:
Tried to lock the doors for the first time this week. Could barely get the key in the locks. Seems they don't lubricate the key internals before leaving the factory and after 4 months in the rainy, humid, salty mid Atlantic air, some corrosion had set in. So I lubricated them up with some spray, let the lube come out the other side (be careful and mindful of that btw) to ensure a thorough soaking, and back in business. To me, shouldn't have to lube them at all, but what do I know.

I hit mine with a little CorrosionX when I got them as this has been a common issue I've had with all my shells.

    https://www.amazon.com/CorrosionX-L...=1&keywords=corrosion+x&qid=1620937390&sr=8-5

I wish there was an electronic option for locking and unlocking the rear door attached to the FOB like on my last cap but that would mean a single lock.

The worst day of my life was when we were T-boned and rolled by a man running a yield sign.
The very best dog that ever owned us was killed in that incident.
I regret every day not doing more to protect her.
Have spent a bunch of money since on special transport kennels- own 3 Gunner's and a Trans K9 - the Gunners were around $1500+ and the Transk9 (imported from Scotland) was over $1000.
I'd pay anything to not go through losing a good dog that way again.

I tried to search this thread but no luck, has anyone sourced channel nuts for the rails on the smart cap? Trying to mount an uptop overland bravo rack and the channel nuts that came with the rack are too wide.

Look at the bottom of this page. The A2 stainless square nuts are what I used to mount my prinsu on my smartcap.

The products discussed in this thread appear on the bottom.
