Spoke with RSI this morning. They are working on a new latch system that will be able to open from the inside and the exterior. The latch system will be a basic retrofit for anyone that already has the cap. No ETA yet, but they are working on it.

I received my cap today and am in the process of putting it together! Didn't realize this thread got so popular while I was working. Kept up but mostly lurking/reading.
Will share updates as I go or when it is finished.......

    Alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With the help of my neighbors, I was able to install the cap today. Put it together yesterday and finished install today.

Im stuck on my last step though. I can't figure out how to connect the wiring harness to the brake lights for the 3rd brake light. Does anyone have any feedback on this? Thanks!
Will share some photos soon :D

    Thanks Mike
I just called Off road alliance and they told me specifically that the wiring harness doesn't have all the included parts to install. I kinda thought something was missing or off. It didn't make sense to me. (unless he didn't know what he was talking about - his name was chris)

So I am tapping into my brake lights and wiring it up myself instead. I have the ground just now. Which wire is the power wire for the brake light, is it the blue wire? Thanks

If you get stuck on this I’ll pull the taillight off tomorrow and verify which wires were tapped. In the past when I’ve wired them in myself I’ve skipped the brake light and just ran a new wire from my truck battery (with an in-line fuse) to the light. You do run the risk of forgetting to shut the light off and draining the battery that way though...

Yea, I'm Chris. And the caps are all missing the adapter wire per our RSI rep about a day ago. And it's not our inventory, it's all inventory apparently. Regardless, it's basically a trailer wiring harness adapter or so our rep described it to us. Personally I think tapping into your brake lights is the easier solution like you mentioned on the phone.

Hey Chris, and everyone else reading,
I ended up tapping into my tail brake light wire (Blue wire (1)) and grounded it to the existing bolts that are't supporting anything. It took two minutes. Brake lights working!

Chris: do you have any tips for the tail gate closing? The Drubber is kinda getting in the way...

    Thanks

You literally have one of the very first caps. We haven't heard any tips or tricks yet so if you do figure something out, let the everyone know.

I was thinking the same thing, that entire left side of the kitchen seems like a giant waste of space. It looks cool and is organized but I think you could accomplish the same thing while utilizing the space much more efficiently. And yeah I don't wanna be cooking bacon at chest/neck level. Cool concept and looks well made but seems to need a bit of tweaking.
