RSI Smart Cap

What a great warranty service. They wanted me to go to a body shop and I declined. I found the issue there was a welding burr on the edge of the cover that was digging in and causing the rust. I knocked it down and hit it with some touchup. Can't see it so I didn't care. They also informed me they're opening a factory in Texas. So soon things should get a lot better for their supply system.

How long have you had your cap on? I'll have to take a look at mine and see if a similar issue is developing.

 

Since June. I remove the burr from the welding process and used self etching primer and then covered it with black. Such a small area and it's on top I didn't care.

 

@OffroadAlliance.com in the event where the side or rear glass were to shatter. Are replacement windows available? Cost? May help sway me to go either sport or EVOa.

 

Due to the sheer demand for the RSI products right now, spare parts are not readily available. If you were to break the glass, most glass shops would likely be able to replace it. RSI does have replacement parts, but getting them shipped from South Africa is not always inexpensive.

 

Has anyone ordered the bins or table? If so are they back ordered as well?

 

There are likely a few bins available, but depends on size and which side you're looking for. Tables are backordered until January or February.

 

That's why I opted for the Evo A...whenever it's coming...but it still has rear glass...

 

They're building a factory in Texas. I'm sure by then they'll be spare parts and new items available.

 

100% agree! Their west coast distributor is pretty close to where I live and I was able to drive into town and load one up. Doing the install wasn't too bad, but I had to lie to my poor father-in-law and say that the "4 people recommended to lift" warning wasn't real

Loving the white on white look. Frontrunner cab rack and load bars should be in sometime this week and will really complete this thing.
I'm also wondering if these would still be in stock if RSI had painted them black like the others. Black can go on any color truck- white, not so much.

I ordered an RSI cap with table on February 12th. The cap was delivered two weeks later, I got super lucky on that one but the table kit is yet to come. I ordered from offroadalliance.com. I reach out to them every couple of months looking for an update on the table kit but its still not here. The cap however is very nice and holding up to my adventures very well.

 

Your table is likely delayed til the end of year or later based on things I’ve seen them state regarding the B/O’g of the tables

 

The entire automotive supply chain has been extremely difficult over the last year of so. With demand continuing to rise for everything, not sure when things will get back to normal. There are a LOT of backorders at the moment for RSI caps, bins, racks and tables. As others have indicated, RSI is in the process of standing up a large manufacturing facility in Texas. Exact dates on when that will be finished and product shipping out from that location is still to be determined. In the interim, if anyone is tired of waiting we're happy to issue full refunds. But we cannot make the process go any faster unfortunately. We do our best to provide realistic ETA's but we do not have control over the manufacturers, the ports, US Customs, freight companies, etc.

If you need us, we're here and happy to help. But as frustrating as it's been for all of you, it's been just as bad if not more frustrating for us.

 

Anyone have news on those rumored "open from the inside" latches? Back in March I was told they were coming out around September.

 

Still in the works from what we're being told and earliest availability will be 4th quarter this year. Submit a warranty claim through RSI's website asking to be added to the contact list once they're available.
