I completely agree, we are working on adjustable lowering brackets. One of these is going in a customers 4 inch lifted tundra with 35's and the customer is barely 5'8"

We've had ours almost a year now (assembled it in October of last year) and it's been great. The only issue has been with frozen latches in the winter as we live in the lower mainland of BC and it's quite wet here. Looking forward to this potential latch/lock upgrade from RSI. Mine did not come with the brake light wiring harness, but a quick email to RSI customer service was told to submit a warranty claim for it, and the harness arrived in short order. Perhaps I was a lucky one as my harness worked was plug and play. Directions could have been a littler better perhaps, but was still rather simple. My only other issues were minor supply issues from Cap-It (the reseller vendor) for the load bars and free torch light.
I haven't had any leaks that I've noticed, but the OEM box isn't water tight at all to begin with and isn't a concern for me. I was a little disappointed in our recent move to a very small remote town only to find there is another Taco here with the same cap; I liked being unique.

Was thinking to do the same. In some ways I think this approach is superior to OEM (price not withstanding) because is so low pro. Links to parts? (sorry if you posted and I missed it)

Almost there. Been doing little bits all week as I’ve had time.

Sealed the bed with silicone and butyl tape.

Assembled it little by little as I had time. Got the 3rd brake light harness ran. I did butyl around it in the hole but forgot to take a photo. End up in the perfect spot.

Hopefully this project will be 99% done after today. Still need to seal the bottom and lower corners of the tailgate but I’ll get to it this week after I check for leaks everywhere else. Happy happy, joy joy.

    Houston… we have a problem…

Looking at my instructions and what I got in the package, the wiring harness isn’t the same. Am I missing a piece?

Anyone got suggestions? I’m all ears…

@OffroadAlliance.com ??? You seen this on the recent deliveries?

***edit - I have watched a couple videos and read more posts in Tacomaworld - I am definitely missing a piece of the harness***

That’s one half, that was attached to the harness in my topper when I got mine. The other half with the actual split should be in the hardware box.

Here’s a quick photo. Maybe I’ll take another tomorrow in the sunlight but it looks like any other white Tacoma with an RSI. Lost 3/4” of ride height in the rear. I’m happy with it though and am looking forward to ordering the table and maybe receiving before 2023.

Receiving the table before 2023?? That's insane, and makes me regret not ordering mine sooner. Sadly, I may be letting my Sport go soon. It's got custom lights and hardly gets any use.

Yes - this piece of the pigtail was attached to my topper in the box with the rear flange. I realize there should be another section in the hardware box… but it ain’t. Reading back thru earlier posts, I saw RSI was having trouble including the piece with the split. I’m wondering if this isn’t a recurring problem. Talk about a major bummer. I leave for a multi-week hunting trip out West next weekend, so I need this to work.

Bro, you are deadly serious with the H20 proofing. I hope its air tight. I did the car wash test and mother nature provided a real world test (cause that how it always works after you wash you car am i right) and I was lucky not to see any water intrusion. But admittedly mine was installed by a dealer. Not sure if that is truly a pos or neg lol.

And I picked up my table kit from them new in box. No leg stays installed on the table. Pull the thing out and its a god damn baby giraffe lol. I read the RSI horror stories on TW but they responded same day and are shipping the stays out to me.

No 3rd break light harness however. So I'm just T tapping and move on with life.
