I have stock leafs with h/s progressive 3leaf aal currently because my fiberglass cap made me sag, losing factory rake (180-200lbs) after 2 yrs. after it brought me back up to stock plus 1/2” or so. I don’t have any plans for a lift.

Because of the weight of the cap and the amount of sag it caused to the stock leafs I also added sumo springs progressive bump stops (3rd gen specific) so if I had any additional sag due to load etc it would minimize it and in theory put less wear on the stock plus aal system (I’d think anyways). The rsi weighs the same so I know I won’t have any issues and I won’t/shouldn’t notice any change/effect from the canopy swap

if you are looking for budget (even just for now) then I would do the aal with a “load helper”

Eibach stage 1 with Icon RXT leafs. Right now I have decked drawers and the cap... will add awning and likely a RTT next spring. I'm on option 2 for the icon RXT leafs at the moment... might have to switch to option 3 with the tent, awning etc. later. Eibach stage 1 is very affordable and pretty killer in my opinion.

I went with the XL as i need something that sleeps 4. Depends on what kind of rear lift you’re opting for, if you buy the whole pack, it usually comes with replacement U-bolts. On my current setup I’m about a 2 inch lift on the rear. I did an extended rear brake line too.

I have one on my 2019 Tacoma & lemme tell ya… it is NICE. Construction is great. Customer service is great. I had a leaking back window, reached out for a warranty claim and within 48 hours they sent a new weatherstripping seal to my door.

I had a shop assemble and install mine mainly bc I didn’t want to deal with the headache.

Thank you for the kind words. We have customers come from all over for caps or suspension or any of our other services. Sometimes plans change or life happens and we understand. Let us know if we can be of service with anything in the future.

You got a free torch light from Cap-it. They just gouged me for install price and a mess caulking job.

I would have loved a free torch light. But never stepping in a Cap-it ever again me thinks.

All-American did a real slop-ass job on my install, especially concerning silicone.

If I had a garage or functioning back, it'd be getting re-done ASAP.

Assembling and installing this topper myself was a big selling point for me. I was able to do it right the first time and not worry about if the job was done correctly and with care. The end result is really worth it. I’ve had 2 fiberglass toppers in the past on previous trucks and both times there were always leaks and fitment issues. The Smart Cap is the best topper experience I’ve had so far. The side entry doors make accessing things, loading and unloading so much easier and it’s all very secure. I do recommend checking the nuts though periodically in case they back off some.

Yah man… I have had to re-torque every bolt twice. As well, they Cap-It installed cargo bars had one basically with two bolts that were barely started. Good thing I double checked before travelling with the surfboards etc.

    alas.

What’s up with the 12 keys? I’m assuming they are, better be , all keyed the same.

haven’t completely unboxed yet, actually a little worried about the roof panel. One of the edge boards shifted a foot off and the exposed corner got smashed and punctured. Can see through the hole in the box- the edge of a roof rail and it’s missing paint maybe slightly smashed. Hopefully it’s just the rail as I’m sure that would be a simpler warranty replacement. I have to build this pulley hoist out of my ass to store the fiberglass before I can have the space to open the boxes.

I liked getting the extras. I have 2 spares in my cab if I need them and lots of spares if I lose or brake keys.
