Can somebody take a picture of the clamps and where they put the rubber blocks? I’m having a hard time figuring that out. Also, do you guys put the cap all the way flush toward the front rail of the bed? There is like a 90 degree bend that if I push the cap fully forward it would be flush with the rail. Thanks in advance!

Just ordered Deaver Stage 2 springs from @OffroadAlliance.com. My stock rear springs were not very happy with a full load of camping gear and the added weight of the topper. All springs manufacturers are raising prices so get your orders in on old pricing while you can, if you can. Some other vendors have already stopped taking orders on Deaver while they wait for the updated price list. Thanks again @OffroadAlliance.com for the great customer support.

Def designed to be slid to the back.

I have pictures in this album that show this and how it meets lines on the tailgate.

There may be a pic of that block as well but I can take more later if you still need it after I’m off work and near the truck.

Just to clarify, these canopies can't be opened from the interior at all, right?

That's correct, however RSI is creating a new latch that is expected to be available in January that will resolve that issue and the issue of freezing over.

It would honestly be hard to lock your self in. You’d have to really try but you could.

Any of your guys caps bow in a little? Triple checked the torque specs and there’s a good bow which may be why mine leaks a little under the plastic.

Yeah they all do that but shouldn’t cause any leaks. Did you silicone under the plastic trim towards the inside edge?

You mind sharing the links to that ace and shovel as well as the bracket? Looks sick!

When my buddy was putting his on, it started bending. I checked out those torque specs and just... what? Way overkill. Backed it off some so it wasnt deforming so bad and it's fine. Sorry RSI I have no idea why you got 125fp on those rail bolts. (If memory serves me right on that)

I torqued them until the split ring washer was flat and then maybe another 1/4 turn. I did it all by hand with a ratcheting box wrench since the torque wrench was hard to get in the small spaces.

Yeah no problem! So the rail mounts are Rago Fabrication. I also use their hi lift mount on the other side. I am just using quick fist mounts to hold the axe and the shovel. The axe is a gerber I just grabbed at the hardware store. I can’t remember which one. The shovel is a Krazy beaver shovel.

I siliconed as much as I could in advance, tailgate gap seal and all that. I spaced removing the bed caps and silicon under them until I saw this thread.

    Smartcap review:
Just came back from a 2 week hunting trip (pronghorn and birds) in Wyoming, and I installed my Evo Sport right before I left. The RSI Smartcap was absolutely clutch for this trip. We logged a lot of miles on back roads - gravel, dirt, and even off-road. It was unseasonably hot, dry, and dusty. Even in those conditions, we had minimal dust get in the cap / bed. I had been pretty diligent about sealing gaps with butyl tape. I see a couple spots I missed from some minimal dust infiltration, but that should be an easy fix. The gull wing doors on the sides are an absolute must for getting coolers, equipment, and even dead critters in and out of the bed of the truck. When we switched to birds, the dog kennel and coolers went in the back. The vent windows kept her cool, even in the unusually warm temps.
All in all, I have to give this cap a big ole :woot::yes:
