    The RSI cap includes integrated top rails but attaching an awning would be dependent on how that particular awning mounts. Most awnings would need to attach to a rack or a cross bar system.

    All of the caps that are coming are the same as the others. No additional tweaks and the new locks are still in the works, we do not have a solid ETA for them at this time.

    So I took the plunge and pulled off the rsi smartcap full length stickers. Very happy. Still contemplating removal of the last one on the back. Went with the @Tacovinyl logo for a retro look....20201229_141342.jpg 20201229_141146.jpg

    Man, I thought sliders were going to be next for me... If this lock thing gets fixed first, sliders will have to wait.

    Nice! Good to see someone else using the 4 wave decals! @Afilao sent me some test decals of the RSI logo in matte black that I'll throw on the back in a day or 2 when I finally remove that last decal (its a big one on the back.) I hadn't even contemplated removing the latches, was it complicated?

    Anyone have experience with one of these in snowy conditions? I heard that if you don’t clean out the snow in between the cab and shell it’ll freeze and then smack between the cab and shell. Any truth to this? Or fixes?

    Lock removal was simple just a Philips screw on the inside and simple sturdy three-piece construction.

    I don't like that these are "short" and don't come over the tailgate. I'd be worried about water eventually making its way in.

    It's a possibility- hasn't happened to me yet though. I have had more issues with leaking from the bed itself, still tracking down and caulking gaps under the bedrail, and planning to figure out something for the gaps at the tailgate. The RSI cap has only leaked once, and not significantly, when I aimed a pressure washer at the positive air intake vent.

    @minium and anyone else wondering.

    It's super easy to remove the glass panels from any side. It's 4 nylock nuts on a flexible hinge. It also has a rubber washer so the mini T slot bolts don't fall out of the bracket. Pics below. There are little retention clips on the Gas struts on the top. Put a small flathead screwdriver in the slot and open the clip, the gas arm will pop right out. Went back on just as easy

    Easier with 2 people but wasn't too bad balancing on my head to get the nuts on hand tight.

    Thank you! You have great timing, around the time you posted this is when I had made the call to order mine. Should be off and running in 3-4 weeks. I got the impression it wouldn’t be too difficult just looking at some of OP’s detailed pictures, I’m glad you confirmed that! Post an update after you get that tire mount installed, looks like a beast.

    Also, thank you to Off-road Alliance for their support on this forum. I ended up ordering from a local company as they offered free install and that saves me the couple hours of bolting it together and getting a couple people to help me lift it.

    Do you know if the new batch will come with the brake light wiring harness?

    The wiring harness is available now and should be included with all caps.

    I don't know if the locks on the Alu-Cab are exactly the same model/manufacturer, but something like that would be a nice option from RSI. I definitely had a problem last week with my locks freezing. Came out to a heavy frost and could barely depress the button to release the latch, and then it just stayed depressed and the latch wouldn't pop open. Fortunately I had a can of de-icer in the cab and after spraying them with that loosened them up after a minute.

    We've had over 2.5" of rain in Seattle since January 1, and it's hasn't been a problem so far. The gasket there seals nicely and any water that accumulates runs down the gap at the sides of the tailgate.

    Does the long bed fit better in the back?

    @TopQuark I haven't seen the SB model in person, but from the photos here the LB seems to be a better fit. Mine is installed flush with the front edge of the bed and goes basically right to the end of the bed rails. The trouble is that the top of the tailgate curves out from there and the cap is straight, so there is a bit of a shelf left over, about 1.5". It's just designed to sit on top of the rails and the gaskets do the work of sealing it instead of an overlapping drip edge. Admittedly a drip edge would be more fool proof, and I guess if that bothers some folks there's nothing to be done about it, but I haven't found it to be a problem yet.
