I don’t run one on my bars, but take into consideration the load limit (250lbs) Frontrunner places on a set of two.

Spoke to Front Runner today. The 1255 bars will work for a RTT and 2 people

It's just interesting to see their quote of "will support a "lightweight" RTT." I think the weak link is the risers.

Went with the front runner over the prinsu because the prinsu would not sit remotely close to even with the cab rack. Front runner is the only one I found that is really close but not even which allows the Ikamper to overhang on the cab rack but not rub against it while on the trails due to flexing. This setup allows me to take full advantage of the weight limit on the RSI.

Question, does anyone have experience resolving wind noise from the light bar on the front runner racks? I got the load bars but wasn’t happy with the setup with the Ikamper because of the weight limit on the bars. I almost ordered another set of load bars to double the capacity but I went with a full platform instead to distribute the weight better and to match the cab rack.

Does anyone have an ikamper mounted with the 2.0 brackets? If possible i'll swap the frontrunner brackets for alu-cab's low profile brackets but not sure if id have the clearance. Not sure if it will clear the positive pressure vent

Temporarily take some cardboard, and use painter's tape. Tape up a damn from the roof to the top of the front runner rack. Go for a test drive.

My guess is the wind around the open light bar is creating the noise, so simple blue painter's tape and cardboard should tell us if that is the case.

I expected wind noise from my solar panel, thinking I would need a "D" shaped leading edge. Zero noise with the flat edge and gap under the panel.

    update:

Looked at their website, which shows a design change to the front panel. The light bar goes in front of the panel. https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.c...005-curr-40-lbar-ssport-roof-rack-kit-bp.html

I was looking, but never found a spec!

RSI Smartcap is 350 pounds dynamic (think rolling down the road) and 700 pounds static (climbing up there to get wild life photos).

I like the "drop rack" style to make loading/unloading easier. https://www.na.rsismartcap.com/components/smart-rack

I mean that system is definitely cool. But that makes me think we're in different tax brackets lol. Im just throwing my Ikamper up there, just like what @Martian__ did

    here you go:5F5F89C7-6959-49FD-AF31-1056E875E7F5.jpg

I was thinking the same thing regarding where the noise is coming from, I’ll def try the tape with cardboard. I’ll keep updating this until the noise is resolved. The link you sent is for the Slimsport rack. Mine is different, I have the slimline 2. The lightbar mounting is complete different.

I did this at first, the 2.0 brackets work but they are only rated at 220 lbs. If you don’t want to go full platform, you can run another set of load bars in the middle to give you more support.
The alucab mounts won’t work with the front runner load bars because the bars don’t have side mount channels. You can only mount stuff from the top and bottom channel. The alucab bars work but it’s very low profile and the Ikamper 2.0 brackets won’t work because they’ll hit the roof of the cap. You can essentially get the alucab low profile bars mounted up but the tricky part will be mounting a tent to it since you’ll have very little clearance from the bars to the roof of the cap and basically no clearance to the roof rail mounting points once the tent is on.

That's a good idea. I could still put in a solar panel and it would be low enough to clear anything on my load bars.

Did you see my "solar panel mounts"? A big chunk of aluminum L. Used a chop saw (aluminum or wood, just don't stop mid-cut least aluminum weld to the blade). Hint, Horror Fright chop saw and carbide blade is fine.

On a budget, look at series 15 extrusion from T-Nutz (note spelling) as you can build a bar fairly inexpensively.

    https://www.tnutz.com/product-category/15-series-extrusions/

I have to save money somehow, due to my expensive bicycle habit! <grin> Then again pedaling my ass means saving on gas, just wish it had AC for Texas summers!

Anyone know the height from the bed to bottom of cap? Wondering if I will be able to mount my ARB jack vertically, jack measures 35" compressed
