Anyone have a hook up on these? Everyone is sold out. My son is looking for a RTX 2060

It's difficult to get one right now, but try to avoid RTX 20xx series cards and go for RTX 30xx instead, they're cheaper and perform about 2x better. RTX 3060 ti is probably the one you want, MSRP of $399 (up to $460 for some aftermarket AIB cards) and much better performance than RTX 2060.

Scalpers are selling them for dumb money on ebay, but don't pay that. Check Newegg and Amazon daily, or you can even sign up for alerts from twitter accounts like https://twitter.com/botrtx

I just bought a 30 series with my friend at a computer shop in San Francisco. He wanted a 20 series but they were all out, so he ended up getting an RTX 3090. They’re more common because they’re pretty pricey, think he paid $1,800 out the door.

With the 3090, most of us probably wont even use close the amount of power that has unless you're making the next Avengers movie. 3080 is a great buy and will more likely suite most users, if you can get your hand on it.

except 10gb of vram will pretty much be the minimum sooner than later, which if your looking for a future proof card, thats not it

It will still be a ways away. By the time that future is here, there will be a newer and better card anyway and we'll all want that one. Personally I would buy the cheaper one right now, especially since you'll still probably never hit it's peak. I have a 1080ti 10gb in my rig atm that 3 years old and it's still able to run everything on max settings. I'll probably upgrade in another year or 2 unless I get lucky and get something newer for cheap.

Blew my mind the RTX 3090 has 24GB of memory. That’s insane. I’m still rocking my GTX 980 with 4GB and it’s still plenty strong.

I have 3 more years on my rig with full coverage/accidental warranty. If my card dies before then, I'll likely get an upgrade :p
