Rub help

recently noticed some minor rub on my truck. I bought it used with a lift and 285's. Looks boss, but the tires rub the UCA's a bit. How can this be fixed? Are spacers an option? If so, what should I look for? Dangers? Thanks!

 

Wheel spacers will fix problem. Wheelers offroad has what u need. Or new wheels with proper back spacing.

 

Are you running stock uca's?

 

Without knowing wheel backspacing and if it has stock upper control arms we cannot say.

 

Spacers will push the tires into other rub areas, not fix anything.

 

If he bought a 2016 and it was used and on 285s, I'm betting it's a dealer installed spacer lift and stock UCAs with wrong backspacing on tires.

 

True but it will get tire off control arm. And other areas can be trimmed.

 

It's why the PO sold it.

I think what he means is by not knowing exactly what poster has as far as tire size and control arms its hard to give good advice as to the proper fix for that particular setup.

 

Agreed, UCAs have different size specs and we don't know where he is rubbing on them therefore need to know the brand.

 

He stated he has 285s.

 

Pushing the tire further out creates a wider arc of turning which pushes the tire more to the front and rear to rub on something else.

 

OPS concern is with his UCAs. Which is the most important rub to correct for safety reasons. He can cross the bridge of mudflaps, CMC and flares after. I agree where he rubs is important . We need pixs

 

I see that now, i would be assuming he is on stock arms and stock wheels, which is probably the problem, but with no confirmation as to arm set up the fixes are generalized. Spacers, new wheels with backspacing and or new upper control arms etc.
