anyone has suggestions for 2016 mudflaps, not factory but rubber, so they can bend and not worry about breaking them on trails. any one have pics of theirs and where they got them would greatly appreciate.

Lot of options if you google. My personal favorites are Rokblokz and Rallyarmor. Rokblokz makes a super easy bolt on kit, but I wanted Rally armors. Downside is they don't have a Tacoma specific for Rallyarmors so I mounted the universals myself. I ended up doing the rallyarmors since I came from a Subaru and they are very flexible. Not a great photo sorry. [IMG]

I would love me some Rally Armors. Put them on wifes new Civic Si and want them so bad on Tacoma. How are universals mounted?

Seriously thinking about these. Old toyota mud flaps i hate the rigid factory ones and im not a fan of the cutting board rally armor ones either. Id like to see if someone else has done old mud flaps on a 3rd gen.

Saw a TW member put 4x4 decals like those on stock mudflaps.

Installing old ones shouldn't be too hard. I agree old ones are sweet.

    Oversized...
I found just using the stock screws wasn't enough for floppy flaps. Having these, holds them off the wheel a little more and straightens them up; inside doesn't hang closer to the wheel than the outside.

View from the rear; U/J-clips are center of photos.

    With marking...
I traced templates of the Rally Armor flaps and used those to help me find screw holes.
I oversized the holes a bit as well, to have room for adjustment.

Perfect, I need to get them going. It is a shame RA doesn't make Taco specific, given how many people are switching to Tacos from Subarus.

I went back through my emails and found a write-up I did for several people who had asked...

"I used some thick paper material and traced a rear and front flap for templates. Driver-side is just a mirror image.
The key is locating the first screw.
The top fender flare screws are 7" from the bottom of the flare and the same distance in from the outside, on both front and rear. This made figuring out protrusion and hanging length easier; especially since I wanted mine to hang the same off the front and rear flares.
You'll notice in my pics how the top holes in the front and rear are in the same location.

I left the screws installed to mark the holes...

They are really flexible and required additional inner support.
Here's what I came up with.

    U-clip front

    U-clip rear

Drill pilot holes and gradually step up through bit sizes; it will leave cleaner holes. I think I drilled mine to 1/2"; this left some wiggle room for final adjustment."

I used the same process as splitbolt. I got my direct from RallyArmor, not a fan of the big evil Amazon. I mounted my rears a little differently. I bought those metal C bolts from home depot and bent it to fit.
