Not sure if anyone else has had this happen, but it has happened to me twice already. In the winter, I like to take my 2018 Taco thru the touch-less car wash. The drying blowers are very strong and have blown off the rubber strips on my roof. The first time I did not realize until weeks afterward and had to replace the strip. Luckily, today, I managed to collect the rubber strip and now just need to re-install

You can glue them down with the adhesive used for windshields. They will never come off again.

Auto glass place glued them down on my 2018 ranch truck several years ago and they are still in place even after weekly car washes.

    Enough for now
Happened to me too before the roof rack and snorkel. Now automatic car washes can’t happen. I also siliconed the strips back in place and it didn’t hold, gonna find a replacement

I used some double stick tape, but had to double it up, since the gap is deeper than one layer. It’s stupid how they just pressed em in place, like they’ll really stay.
next time I’m at my buddy’s shop, I’ll use some adhesive he suggested and really secure thems

Put a small rack in place of rubber. I think these improve the look.

I had the same problem, tried different solutions (tape, adhesives) and none of them worked. I knew I never wanted to take those strips off for any reason so I decided to use gorilla glue. It worked. It has been on for over a year, through many car washes and has never come off again. Again, think of this as a permanent solution.

I have aftermarket strips up there because I used to have a Prinsu. They are held down with black, marine grade, silicon. I take my truck through the car wash 3-4 times a month during the winter and those bad boys aren’t going anywhere.
