Same here. I just wipe them down with soap and water every now and then.

I use a small amount of laquire thinner and they will soften right back up. Two and half years on my factory blades and they perforce like new. Keep in mind I garage my truck everyday and it rarely sees rain.

Depends on the wipers you buy. Those cheap metal and rubber ones hardly last more than 6 months. But quality ones can last over a year with heavy use. The OEM wipers are good, but definitely not the best I've ever had.

I've never once ripped a front wiper blade, living in Michigan and also experiencing ice and snow. Just be sure you're not using them over ice when it can be avoided. Apparently a lot of people just spray their windshield with the wiper fluid and try to get the wipers to do the rest. I've never understood that. That's what the defroster and an ice scraper is for.

Glad I saw your post. :) I had a set installed at O'Rielly's on my '19 Tacoma this morning. Been over on Amazon reading reviews and folks don't speak too highly of them. I could of went with Bosch Icons for more money but I saw the $10.00 off on the Trico Force. People complaining about chatter but I use Wolfgang Rinseless Wash UBER as a detail spray. I clean my windshield with it after every wash so it should be plenty slick and I'm hoping I won't have a issue with chatter.

And a spray bottle of Prestone Windshield De-icer. Love the stuff.

Around Halloween which is when the weather starts to turn, I do several things. I spray down my undercarriage with anti rust spray and I replace my wipers with OEM inserts.

I probably sold over a million complete wiper blades and rubber inserts over my 16 years owning/operating a chain of auto parts stores. Keep in mind that the wiper arms and blades (frames) play as important role in keeping your windshield clean, dry and streak-free as the rubber inserts. Personally, I always replace the blades/frames as opposed to just the rubber inserts as they don't cost that much more and very often it's your frames that have lost tension and not applying even pressure against the windshield causing problems.

Hi all! Sorry to revive a 2 year old thread. Has anyone replaced their blade inserts recently? Mine are in need of replacement...but my dealership said they can order them for 30 bucks...EACH. They told me they could get the whole assembly for 20. I'm also having a hard time finding them online. Anyone have a source for these inserts? Or a good recommendation for the cut-to-fit style?

    Thanks in advance!

I bought mine from McGeorge Toyota. I believe only the right side says that you need to order 10 of them, but I was able to order just one set without issue.

I checked and they're showing unavailable on Sparks.

Finally just found them at the next closest dealership for $16 out the door. Clearwater Toyota must be out of their minds, or got the wrong part number.

Last time I bought inserts from a Toyota dealer they said that they were no longer stocking the inserts, but had a few left. The next change, I just replaced the entire wiper.
