hey. so I have a '10 tacoma with 33x1250x20's and I'm having rubbing problems... control arms as well as wheel wells... not sure exactly what I have for a lift, considering the rich idiot I bought it from had no idea what he was talking about. looks like a 3 inch to me, but I'm no expert on suspension.

would replacing the lift and going taller solve the problem? wheel spacers?(tires already stick out quite a bit). I dunno. I'm up for any ideas. its really not too terrible unless i make sharp turns like in and out of my driveway or into a parking spot at a store or something. seems to be worse when im backing out also.

any knowledge to be shed would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Picks would help us if you can. Pics of the suspension and wheels specifically. And where the Upper Control Arm and tire are. What kind of wheels are they?

Going past 3" on a taco opens a whole new can of worms I doubt you want to deal with.

For the wheel wells youll have to trim the plastic away where it rubs at. thats the easy bit. With 33's tho your prolly always gonna rub at full lock somewhere.

UCA rub is not good tho, are you still using the stock UCAs? cant help you much here without pics if you dont know what you have.

Yeah man. Pics..at least...I understand you don't know too much about it, but take a look at your suspension system...Coilovers? What kind?, rear shocks? AAL? Is there a block attached to your leafs? Need further detail to help out.

Probably blocks & spacers with 20s, you could alleviate some rubbing with properly back - spaced wheels, around 4.5" is the sweet spot. Going taller than 3" with coils / shocks / spacers will give you more problems down the road and won't necessarily get rid of the run since going higher brings the wheels closer to the frame.

sorry it's taken a while to get back. I'm out in Grand Junction, CO working and havent had much free time to get any personal stuff done. plus its been raining pretty good the last few days.

anyway. the rubbing is on the lower control arm, not upper. I'll post a few pics here. theyre not the greatest, but its all i can do with my phone right now. thanks for the input though. keep it comin.
