So I have Fox coilovers set running about 2.5" of lift with 265/75R16 and rubbing the left front wheel well nearly any time I'm turning left. Rims are the TRD beadlocks (fake beadlocks)

Any suggestions on why this would be rubbing?

I'd like to go 255/85R16 but concerned that a cab chop might not be enough

I have 265 75 R16’s on stock suspension with no rub. I only had to remove the mini front mud flaps. Seems to me an alignment check is needed.

Do you still have the front mud flaps on? Sometimes just removing those will eliminate minor rub. I only have 2" lift running 255/75/17 tires on stock TRD Sport rims which is a 32" tire. No rub at all, so I'm thinking if it isn't the front mud flaps, it's probably due to the wheel offset?

probably rubbing the liner. 265/75/16s shouldn't give you an issue its on .4 of an inch over factory size

Actually depends on tires. Nominally 1.04 in. But depending on actual tire dims the largest 265/75/16 is the Cooper St maxx which measures 32" and the factory rugged trails measure at like 30.6 or somethin so almost 1.5"

More details as I see it is more complex than initially thought.

    - Tires are the Cooper ST Maxx
    - Upper control Arms are from All Pro
    - Lower control Arms are stock
    - Mud flaps removed long ago
    - Alignment has been done via Firestone (Twice now)

Rub is on the lower corner of the plastic fender flare. I can take a picture this evening, but here is a side profile of the truck even though this is the passanger side v drivers side

I had similar rubbing while stock with 265/75/16s on the same wheels, BFG KO2s. It wasn't bad, I let it go and it rubbed through the plastic. It's not the biggest issue I've had by any means.

What do ur caster numbers look like? To minimize rub you'd want them at least 3 degrees IIRC.

Don't want to assume, but you don't have wheel spacers correct? I rubbed the same spot on my last truck with 265/75R16s but that was because of the backspace I had on the Level 8 MK6 rims (4.1inch back spacing). It could be you have to much wheel backspace and its pushing the wheel to far out. Could go back to firestone and see if they'll increase the caster to push the wheel farther forward in the wheel well.

    *Edit: Nice looking Tacoma btw

    Agreed, this is an option.
However my friend has a very similar set up on 285 with zero rub. Why? is the question

I doubt he doesn't have any rub.
