Rubbing me wrong 265/75R16 with 2.5" of lift

    You’ve got sound advice in here. Get your caster up to 2* and you should be good. If not trim them flares. They cut so easy and clean you won’t notice a thing. Then no more rubby rubby

    I have the exact same setup minus the wheels (I still have the factory TRD wheels for now). And I have the JBA upper control arms. I only rub when making a tight turn and the front suspension is compressed. I know this doesn't really help. But my guess would be something with the wheels or alignment.

    This is a Google image, but I cut here with a box cutter. They won’t rub if I try now, and it looks factory if you cut good and don’t have an uncut Tacoma to compare to. You just hack that protruding piece out, and some of the liner.

    My previous tires were 265/65r18 on stock suspension. I'm running 255/80r17s on stock suspension with minor rub. Just get and alignment and make sure that they set the caster further forward (like everyone else is saying) it should solve your issues. Those tires are too small to be giving you issues with rubbing.

    I have Dirt King UCA's, very similar set up to you with wheels and tires. I had rub on same spots. The UCA's have built in caster that pushes the wheels further back in the wheel well, hence the rubbing. Had an alignment done twice to try and get more caster, but they kept maxing out and then camber was too far off. My alignment numbers are around 2.9 caster and .03 camber with .07 toe on both sides.

    The problem is that the caster can only be adjusted on the lower control arms alignment cam bolts. Many people run SPC UCA's for this reason... they are adjustable at the UCA also. This allows for more caster to be added while maintaining good positions on the LCA cam bolts for camber.

    If cutting some plastic is ok with you, I would recommend as it's the easiest and cheapest option. But if you are cool with dropping another $500 on SPC UCA's, you can get better caster/camber numbers and completely eliminate the rubbing issues. It will also allow you plenty of clearance for those 255's you want...

    How do the the spc uppers adjust? I’m running Camburg uppers ball joint and they sit in the same factory mounts as the rest.

    These tires should not be rubbing. In my opinion do not cut or trim a single thing. Take the truck to an alignment shop where they can think outside the box when it comes to alignment angles. I had the same problem with that exact same Tire on my truck rubbing in the same place. I put the tires on myself and it wasn't rubbing I took it to Firestone for an alignment and when I got it back they were rubbing. I hate to say it but any alignment that is under $140 or a hundred fifty bucks is not going to be very good quality.. I found a frame/under-car shop where all they specialize in is weekend autocross recreational type of stuff lots of little Porsches, Miatas and also lifted trucks. I paid 160 and it has been perfect

    That's what I'm saying. You can. There is a cam bolt on the ball joint of the UCA that you can adjust the caster and camber with. This is in addition to the OE lower arm cam bolt adjustments.

    You can, if they're SPC or similar or mine (Total Chaos) have extra caster built in already but Firestone is one of those brain dead toe and go places so I would find a shop that specializes in alignments.

    That’s just for geometry of how your upper moves during articulation so you don’t blow out the ball joint. You’re not aligning or moving the caster. But I see your point and didn’t realize that nut/plate was functional like that.

    Too few to list.
    I have All-Pro UCA's and I'm running them at around +4 to 4.5 Caster works best. Zero rubbing even under flex. You should be able to do the same. At +2.5, they will rub.

    The cost of alignment doesn't have anything to do with the numbers. We pay $79 here and its always top notch. You just need to find someone that's competent at dinner the work.

    Exactly,we have a top-notch shop here that's been in business for years. Hell I was handing the tech sockets and telling him how the SPC arms worked. I got great numbers and it was only $60 :headbang:
