    hello all,

So I recently put 30x9.5 r15 on my five lug tacoma with a 3mm spacer. As soon as I went to roll out I heard grinding. It's rubbing on my caliber. I put both 3mm spacers on one wheel just to check and it spun freely. So my question is

Do I grind down my caliber so it fits properly

    OR

Do I put 6mm spacers on my front.
Which if I do that will I need longer studs.

    Any suggestions?

I know on the prerunners and 4x4 2nd gen you have to run at least a 16" wheel or it will rub the calipers. Probably the same on 5 lug.

Did you have a 16" wheel on there before?

Your caliper is inside the wheel. The tires have nothing to do with the wheel rubbing on the calipers. Only other thing I see you changed was the spacer. You try it without it?

Post up a pic and we'll take another look at it. I'm sure we can figure something out.

Personally I would get longer studs and a thicker spacer. I have a 1/4 spacer with my set up and I could still use my stock studs with extended lugs but recently I changed mine out to longer studs and I like how much more they stick through. The studs are for a toyota matrix but are the same as ours but slightly longer.

Here's the link to the studs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C0H424/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I thought 2nd Gen 5 lugs came with 15" rims standard though?

    This is a backspacing issue.

If it was me I'd stick to the original rims rather than putting wheel spacers in. Just safer over all. Or find a set of 15's that have the right backspacing already.

Or I guess you could just jump up to 16's but that means new wheels and tires.

I dont mind my spacer since its still the studs from the hub. Now if my spacer was so big it had its own studs thats a no bueno

Hmmm. Haven't seen that done before. Then again most guys online using wheel spacers are using like 1" or bigger. lol They're going for the super wide profile as opposed to simply trying to clear calipers.

Unfortunately I bought the rims with the tires on it. I could always just go back to my old set I just wanted to see if I can make these work.

So you guys think get new studs and 6mm spacers instead of grinding? I'll still try and get some pics up tonight it's in the garage and I'm out all day. Thanks for the helps guys!

Jeep rims have like 5.5 in bs or something with a positive offset at least thats what I remember when I was looking at them.
