I took my 17 TRDOR in for the 6 month check. I mentioned to them a rubbing sound I hear when I turn. I know this is something I could have resolved on my own but thought I would mention it. They looked at it, said it was a simple fix, but told me there was a bit of rubbing/discoloration on the plastic housing. This is in a very inconspicuous place that I would have never noticed, but nonetheless the dealer said they are ordering me a replacement part for it. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I found this act as great customer service.

Also, they filled my gas tank and sold me a new set of wiper blades for $4.

I had some work done and had this issue afterwards, the plastic steering wheel 'housing' wasn't clipped in all the way and was rubbing the wheel when turning, I just jiggled it and pushed in and it clipped in, no more problems :)

I had this happen on my 1989 Toyota Camry. I think the plastic just warped over time. Maybe somebody took your stuff apart and didn't clip back together or re-install correctly as mentioned above. Take to dealer, have them address it.
