Hey Kilted, have you ever been to the Rubicon? You need armor covering everything underneath your truck, including your differential. You have a truck, so slider's are a must. You're going to absolutely murder your truck. The Rubicon is no joke, I used to live up in Georgetown... used to go every other weekend.

Lol on the Tahoe side Eric. You can come into the trail from that way, but most of the traffic comes from Georgetown to South Lake. Ya might wanna consider driving down here to Auburn and then cutting across.

And you MIGHT wanna consider a reinforced drive shaft, unless you already have one. I bet one in half on my old Jeep a couple years back.

Its not that bad... Toyota took stock 2010 4runners through it with only a little door damage and a busted muffler. 3 inches of lift, sliders and skids should get you there.

There are bypasses on alot of sections that get nasty..except for 1 or 2 sections..it's one way or no way.

Experience does help. And good spotters. I've seen some capable, nice rigs break up there because the driver had no idea WTF he was doing. And I'm not taking shots at anyone up here. But someone from my group has always broken on the trail for one reason or another.

And if you guys are planning on getting lockers, and getting serious about crawling, you might want to consider re-gearing. I rolled through my first time with 3.07 ratio in my Wrangler, and it absolutely kicked my ass haha.

BUT, Rubicon is an insane amount of fun, and I promise that it is a trip you will not forget.

Not saying it can't be done. Just saying, how many peole are willing to sacrifice the passenger door on their trucks? Things do happen, and yes there are bypasses. But it is not a trail that I think anyone should take lightly. Hell, if there's an open seat, I'd love to go with you guys. I've got plenty of experience on the trail, and am a pretty good spotter. And for any obstaclers that might be too much, I'm a pretty good rock stacker too :D

Lol I've lived in the 530 for almost 8 years now. Kinda a nickname that we have for it up on the hill. I'd love to work for TG though. haha
