Here's my 10/22. I've had it for years, but just finished upgrading it. Here what I did:

    • Replaced the stock barrel with an 18" Shooter Ridge heavy barrel.
    • Added a Hogue Overmold Stock in olive green.
    • Did a custom trigger job and polished everything in the trigger group. Went for 8 lbs. of pull down to 2.75 lbs. (at least on my cheap scale).
    • Put a Leupold VX2 3x9 scope on it.
    • Add a bipod.

It's extremely accurate. I can hit a 6"x12" steel plate a 300 yards most every time, 200 yards is easy.

    Hello
Here is a picture of mine. Thumb-hole stock, Tac-Innovations fluted light-weight threaded barrel, TAC-52 suppressor, Harris Bi-Pod, and some light trigger work.

I also have a .920 Midway Heavy Match Black Fluted Barrel for the 10/22 for sale if anyone is interested. It has maybe 600 rounds run through it before I got this other barrel. Make me an offer.

I gave my gunsmith blank check. He ordered the stock 10/22, fit the Fajen stock, fluted a bull barrel (don't know brand) and comped the muzzle to match the Ruger MK II he also built for me. He makes his own scope mount. I know it's not the best scope on the market, but this little shooter is accurate enough for me.

Hey guys. Picked up my Ruger 10/22 a few weeks ago and have done a couple things to it so far. I'm very familiar with the gun since I grew up shooting my dads. So far I've put on a Hogue Overmolded stock (Love it), SuperSling, and Barska 3x9x32 scope.. I bought the scope from Amazon for 40 bucks. I was skeptical of such a cheap scope, but after reading all of the reviews on Amazon, I pulled the trigger and I'm very impressed! Anyways, I picked up a pack of tuffer buffer bolt buffers and I'm having a hard time getting it in! I've oiled it up and still can't fit it. Any suggestions?

Some of them can be tricky, did your steel one come out easy? Older more usage guns the bolt stop will fall out very easy (the hole is starting to stretch out). Try oiling the holes in the receiver and not the buffer itself, and use a "screwing" motion while installing. When/if you get it through one side use hemostats or pliers to feed to the other side. Let me know how it goes.

it did take a little bit of force to get the factory bolt stop out, I also oiled every contact point, but still a no go. i will get some better oil and maybe break it in some more. will let you know how it goes, thanks!

It softens up the shot quite a bit, try lightly sanding the buffer.
