for .22s when not on our private range where we have all sorts of metal swinging targets and hanging bowling pins, I use a big ole sack of potatos. Just throw them out at random distances and start plinking. With a scope and rest they are great ou to 100 yards. They are very reactive as they blast pieces off when hit and the other portions can be shot over and over. No trash to clean up after we are done is key.

Oh and has anyone tried the new 10/22 takedown model from Ruger? I am liking the design but taking off the barrel band for accuracy looks like a no go... Pretty cool but not sure I need a 4th 10/22 until I hear if the thing is a winner. Others that I have are one with a butler creek folder, one target model with trigger job/bull barrel/target stock and optics, and my last is the 10/22mag. All scoped but my folder has a see through mount to use iron sights. Anyone have the BMF Activator?

yes but it is no longer in use. the set screws that keep it attatched to the trigger guard scratched the shit out my gun. It was kind of fun when I first had it but was not worth the money. you can burn through a 25 round mag in just a few cranks. I bought it probably 10 years ago and only used it a few times.

I also had a thing that would attatch to the trigger so that when you pull the trigger you fire a round and then you push your finger forward to fire a second round, a pull/push motion. I never got that one to work how I wanted it to.

now if I want to burn a bunch of ammo really fast I will just bump fire the trigger:D

Seems were twins, I had (sold) the crank after a session or two, I've still got the push/pull deal, can't think of the name, HellFire perhaps? I've got it to work for a few brief moments, junk. I can bump fire damn near as fast anyways.

I empty mags as fast as I can when I first get out there.....helps me forget school, though it is generally with a mkIII pistol and 4 mags

Anyways, I had a friend of mine tell me he wants to set my 10/22 up with a paintball gun style trigger, so he can fire
With finger flutter......now I want to try it

Ever try one of the 50rd drums, I've got a old Mitchell one that still runs flawlessly. Kinda a pain to load, but makes for fun shooting. I think it's pictured on the first page of this thread.

Yep, I read it (I think, I didn't see a next page button on phone)

I started noticing the pealing on mine after shooting one day, but it was nothing bad.

Then I was cleaning it a couple months later (after a different shooting session) and got frustrated with a spot I couldn't reach very well. I took some gun scrubber to it and cleaned it off. And then the paint started pealing badly.

You should try Frog Lube(if you haven't heard about it). I love that stuff, works wonders.

I use it on all my guns

but gun scrubber is not...its basically the same thing, just coat your gun in oil after you get done. I need to do that

Thats a good idea. How do you support them? I could run a string through a bunch of clothes pins and use that to hang saltines. Animal crackers might be a bit small for that though.

I use a 2x4 with a dato (groove) cut into it length wise, 2x4 is almost 4ft. The dato is prolly 1/4 inch deep. Just stand the crackers up in the groove. There a challege past 50 yards. If you think your getting good, swap to Cheese-its, standing on there corners, so not as much in hidden from view. For years, I've been saying I'm gonna make a rack with a few of the 2x4 'shelves' in it, but haven't got around to it.
