An AR22 isn't converted, that's just what it is. You can buy a 223/556 AR and get a drop in 22 bolt and different mags and run .22 out of it but I've read numerous reports of them not being accurate. .22lr twist rate is 1/16, .223/556 twist is 1/7-1/9. Also the 22lr bullet has to travel a tiny bit before it actually reaches the groves in the barrel and that also affects the accuracy.

Currently there are no laws keeping anyone from buying any AR in Texas. I wouldn't worry about any of that Mumbo jumbo and rush out to buy an AR if that's what your worried about. The only hard part is finding what you want in stock! Haha

I saw that m&p 22. Little pricey. I can get rifle then the kit for less than four hundred.

Got you, you know Ruger makes one very close to that, and time you buy a pistol grip, float tube, stock and rifle and bull barrel, the money gonna be close. Search a Ruger SR22.

Edit: Ruger even uses Nordic parts, just Ruger branded.

The Sr22 is up there in price. But I'd get that instead of s&w mp22.

True, but again, go to adding up everything and check the difference. GunBroker has them for under $500.00. Feel sure you can get one for less locally.

Ha, know how that is. One thing about building it, you can but basic rifle, shoot and enjoy it stock, mod later. May even decide to go another direction. Plenty of pics over on Rimfirecentral.com whole thread on the Nordic guns.

Thanks. Didn't know about that site. I used to shoot .22 friendly competition,German style. Out here at least between a few clubs. Bolt , single shot,100 yards. So I do appreciate a fine .22

Finally got a chance to install the BSA red dot and did some plinking after sighting in. Mostly just spinner targets and catch can stuff. Then I took an old directTV box and hung it by the cord and shot it down at 25yds. I love this Charger.
