Well that kinda depends.. on my all my factory receivers I center up and drill a 1/4 hole in line with the bore in the rear of the receiver. That way I can drop the bolt out and use a cleaning rod from breech to muzzle (the only direction you should ever clean). Then, below that hole, about 3/16 from the bottom of the receiver I drill and tap a 8-32 hole. When you put your trigger group back in with the two pins, you tighten that set screw to tighten up your TG in the receiver. Some guns don't need this, some are fairly loose. Grab and wiggle your trigger guard to see where yours is. I do them all. Then if your feeling confident drill a tiny hole in the back of your trigger guard and tap for an over-travel set screw. It escapes me ATM what size this tap is, I'm thinking 6-32 but not positive. If you want more we can go into setting correct headspace (all factory bolts are way out of spec., squaring up the bolt face, Putting a radius on the rear of the bolt (better subsonic and standard velocity cycling) peen the extractor and pin the firing pin to prevent it from rising up during shooting. I'm been building these little rifles for over 30 years. Back then you had to massage what Ruger gave you, now you can buy any and everything you need. I've got a Kidd and Feddersons but I enjoy building with as many tuned factory parts as possible.

    Just the basics
Very nice. I really want to get the Magpul stock.
How's that scope? Very compact. I've got a crappy scope on mine right now.

I love the Magpul stock! It's really convenient to store the barrel and put it in a bag. For the scope, it's really crappy has a scope but great as a red dot :rimshot:

I havent shot it but I'll let you guys know Saturday when I go shooting :D

Meh they wont let me pick up parts even though they are right around the corner. They said since they are only a machine shop with no store front they wont let me pick anything up for "liability" reasons. We'll see how fast the vblock gets to my door and then maybe I'll order a trigger job.

V-block doesn't make much of difference you can use your stock but for the trigger definitely a must

Is your trigger group poly or a older alloy one? The trigger jobs are designed for the poly units. I've lnstalled a have dozen or so in the alloy units, however you can hand fit them with just a little effort. The hammer pivot pin is .003 oversized with the Kidds kits.

Its a polly trigger. I dont think they made a alloy unit for the takedown.

True.. they had swapped to poly long before there was a take down. Those Kidd trigger kits are freaking awesome!!!
