This is well covered and documented on rimfirecentral.com. Still a very nice mod to do! :D

anyone have the factory wood 10/22 stock they would be willing to donate to me? I will pay shipping and could throw in a 50 round pack of CCI. I also have the factory bolt catch I could send you if someone wanted to try and do the auto bolt release mod to it

Pm me if you can help me out. :)

I have my factory target edition stock. brand new. never shot the gun with it installed, but dont think i could just give it away and im pretty sure you would need a heavy barrel for it to fit right.

On a side note. I bedded my stock a couple days ago and cant wait to see how this affected accuracy.

Tons of great info over there. You are right, that mod is pretty easy to do, especially after you've done a couple. It's kinda funny (sad really) on older guns the metal used in this plate is twice as hard as newer models, just like the plastic barrel band and trigger group on the new ones. I've got a brand new factory stock, (metal band) and like new barrel, I'd let go very reasonable. PM if interested, we can work out a trade of some sort.

I know this is a mod thread but I am amazed that no one is talking about extended mags like Eagle 30rnd and butler creek 25 round and the mag loader from butler creek here. I shoot a ton of .22 and when shooting hundreds or even more than a thousand at a time they will save your loading thumb. Another fun 10/22 toy BMF activator...check it out. Four shots per revolution of the crank. Totally legal in most states. I empty a 25 round mag in just over 2 seconds. Not for acuracy of course but very fun to shoot. Like cranking a fishing reel. Oh and I have 3 10/22s in different configs and a 10/22 mag as well. You can buy a matched hammer and sear from cabellas and drop in yourself for like $50 made by volquartsen and drop the trigger to about 2# and no creep or crunch. The volquartsen trigger groups are great as well as Timney for drop in parts.

If that's the Ramline, mine like it jammed. Often. The butler creeks never have.

I bought a steel lip butler creek years ago for like 80 bucks, way overpaid but that's what they were going for back then. I've been using the same one for about 12 years.

They are around $20 now and the plastic lips are just as good at $15. Plus two snap together. 50 rounds and the loader makes them so easy. Plus if you snack while shooting on long sessions, the loader keeps less lead on your fingers.

Ruger now sells a 25 or 30 round mag for the 10/22.
I'ts better to find an older 10/22 at a pawn shop if you want to MOD it.

yea I picked up a second butler creek 25 rounder about 3 years ago and this one doenst fit as snug in the mag well as my old one does, the new one wiggles...its a steal lip too. I wont waste my money on the plastic lip one though. but YMMV

If you want a trick 10/22, I would recommend checking out SMOS Arms. The pictures just don't do the guns justice, but here are a couple.

Is that built on a Charger or a 10/22? I guess a stamp either way? One for SBR, or one for a stock on a handgun?

Machined 7075 Billet Upper and Lower Receiver

    Continuous Upper Picatinny Rail

    Removable Side and Bottom Rails

Relocated the guide rod and built a new bolt handle.

Utilizes AR Type Grip and Buttstock

The contours and machining are superb. :)
