Probably not bad advice. But the best I recall you have to be caught with it in your possession. I’ve got a SBR folder. The brake is just treaded on. IIRC this is a 12.5” barrel.

I think you're correct, but it's better safe than sorry. Also, it keeps the mods from going apeshit.

OT: we do have N. Alabama TW group in here, should you ever want to join us.

I agree 100% about the mods. I knew there was a Alabama one, just not a more localized one. I’m over in the Shoals area.

It’s the Alabama thread, but half of us are HSV, with one or 2 near Danville/Cullman.

The thread gets carried away sometimes, but it’s a good group of guys. This group helped me with my lift install are a wealth ok knowledge on the Tacoma.

Feel free to drop in once in awhile.

Hate to see a decent barrel destroyed for no reason. Even in communist California that barrel is NOT illegal. Only if attached to a rifle “type” stock. And even that has been modified by the ATF concerning “braces”.

That was my 22” used barrel 36k+ rounds went through decreasing its accuracy I shorten it hoping I could bring it to plinking but since it’s illegal so I destroyed it

For any of you guys wanting to take a charger and put a pistol brace on it.

    https://coppercustom.com/brands/copper-custom-armament?product_id=1046

And for the record putting a brace on a pistol doesnt not constitute the making of a SBR. If you modify the brace in anyway then it's a change to the original design but shouldering it doesnt classify a change. This is referring to SB Tactical braces since they have a letter from the ATF stating such.

    Ask me how I know......

Or check out the NFA thread :p

I wouldn't have gone that far, but would have removed it from the receiver until I had the NFA paperwork.

No, I think it was Shooting USA on the Outdoor Channel. The one with Jim Scoutten.

Oh nice! Glad to see that product getting some real exposure. It's a great idea and should be a known thing for people

Somebody posted the MAC YouTube video with it over in the Firearms BS thread a few weeks back and I showed it to a buddy at work. He had a Charger takedown and the adapter ordered within an hour, haha. I got a chance to shoot it last week with a Gemtech can and it was a blast. I will definitely be getting one put together as soon as I finish my .300BLK SBR build and replenish the gun fund.

Just scored a 20” Kidd stainless barrel for a buck fifty. Will marry nicely to a Feddersens reciever, JWH bolt (scored a few at their Black Friday sale) Kidd single stage group. Seriously considering a Tony Mele BR type stock.... still thinking about options. It will be a slow build.

Hey, are these things legal in California? I want to throw my takedown in the back of my truck, but I don't want to be hassled by the police if I take it out to play with it.
