You'll be fine. Rimfire gets a free pass for the most part. Just make sure your barrel is at least 16". Might get some side-eye for mags over 10 rounds (mostly illegal in CA) but generally even then you shouldn't have a problem.

Yeah, I figured I would get flak for large mags, so I was just gonna take the 10 rounders, I just don't want to run into a, 'hey stupid, you know that's illegal here?' situation.

    Thanks man.

Is it just the angles, or do the magazines look long to me? Is this build a .22LR or a magnum?

Edit: Never mind, I see the type of rings you used, it has to be a .22LR.

So I did end up taking the BX Trigger apart and thoroughly cleaning. What I figured out is that I most than likely suck at fidgeting with the bolt release.
That thing is such a pain the ass. Thanx for your help by the way.

Thank you for helping prove me not loosing my mind!!! LOL... They just looked “long” to me. I’m not certain what these sell for, but I’d be willing to buy them off you? But Midway is a solid company, they will make it right.

Yo! So a friend offered me a 10-22. He said it’s old...but free.

I want to build a hunting gun. Thinking of keeping it simple. I like that 20” sporter barrel by Green Mountain. Then a trigger from somebody and a laminate wood stock. Then a 3-9x scope. This is all DIY?

Are the Green mtn barrels okay?

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I have a Green Mtn 20" heavy barrel and I am pretty happy with it. I occasionally shoot long range silhouette matches out to 200 meters with it and I'm sure it is more capable than I am.

The barrel on the gun now may very well suited for what you want to do. What game are you after? I love how people suggest what they’ve spent money on without having a clue of your intentions with the rifle. If you will try everything (ammo wise) you may find the factory barrel more than adequate for your needs. If not, GM barrels are quite accurate as a whole, again each and every one will “like” a certain ammo better than all the rest.
You definitely need some sort of trigger upgrade, again depending on your wants or needs. If you don’t feel comfortable with stoning your hammer/sear I’d suggest Brimstone. They can work your factory trigger to amazing results. PM me with questions, I’ve been building custom 10/22’s for over 30 years.

Edit: I’d never carry a bull barreled rifle to hunt with. I have, that’s when I learned to love sporter tubes, and they can achieve most all hunter goals. Benchrest, maybe a different conversation.
