Looks good, what barrel was that again? It kinda reminds me of my AirForce Talon SS PCP air rifle.

Anyone know where to go to get a barrel threaded but retain the front sight? I like the tech sights I have on mine, but I'm also picking up a DA Mask this week and want to be able to use it with 60gr kolibri 22LR's.

I doubt you could thread the existing barrel and retain the sight but I know Ruger does have threaded barrels that have a front sight as well. They are expensive though, more than I paid for my whole rifle..

    http://shopruger.com/10_22-Threaded-Barrel-Blued/productinfo/90567/

Edit: Just found this little guy too, kind of funny looking but you could use the normal factory barrel and front sight.

    https://www.hightowerarmory.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=HTABSWA

Double Edit: After reading further on that one it looks like they recommend not using it for a suppressor because it doesn't align well enough and could cause baffle strikes.

I was thinking along the lines of removing the front sight post, turning the barrel down to move it back, put the sight back on, and THEN thread the barrel. And yeah, concentricity is important. Don't wanna wait for a can and then baffle strike it because I cheaped out on the mounting solution. Buy once, cry once.

Nice shooting! What distance do they typically do these competitions at?

Any recommendations for a mid-range bull barrel in 18" length? Just for a plinker with limited range use. I have my 10/22 in a bullpup stock and the tapered barrel with A2 flash hider looks funny on the body. It was fine on the OEM Ruger stock and otherwise performs as it should. It's more of a cosmetic mod than anything so I don't want to break the bank but also don't want to sacrifice accuracy (function over form).

@neegdogdig ? You're the fellow that knows about these things.

Green Mountain is a lot of barrel for a reasonable amount of money.

Thanks! I was reading back in this thread and kept seeing that name pop up. The one I'm looking at runs $160 and that's comfortably in my budget. I may take the spare stock and barrel and build a second 10/22 out of it since the parts list for these things is so short compared to ARs.

That's how it starts... I now have ten 10/22's and only one is factory, well factory looking anyways.

They're fun enough to have several. Niece is almost old enough to take her shooting so a "simple" rifle might be the best introduction.

Also take a look at Feddersen’s barrels. Tack drivers... for just a bit more.

If you don't mind the weight go with Green Mountain Barrel price is right with good accuracy, or get Summit Precision barrel for great accuracy weight only 13 ounces you will not disappoint in their barrels.

I'll second this, my Green Mountain barrel will get me nice tight groups at 50yards with CCI mini-mags when I am shooting my best. It opens up a little out to 100 but not bad and that is probably more the ammo than anything, I'm sure with match ammo it would be even better. I have used it for long range silhouette matches out to 200 yards and I have usually hit 50% of the targets at that range, which once again would probably improve with better ammo. Inside 100 yards the little chickens and pigs are easy pickings.
