Great looking 10/22! I'm going with the same stock only in FDE and I'm undecided on which barrel to get, I need one threaded though.

    Thanks,
McMillan has an almost identical stock called the STC I think. They might be available with their molded in camos as well. I always wanted one in their desert camo then with either a bead blasted stainless barrel/receiver or blacked out.

I'd like to have the barrel threaded, but to be honest I shoot it without ears already, it's pretty quiet.

Yep, and I did it on purpose. If I am carrying it around and have the bipod on, I want to be able to fold the legs without it getting in the way of where I hold the stock. Also, it looks way more tacticool, which is really the most important thing.

Edit- I see no sense in having it backwards. I will switch it back tonight. I really dont like the Versa-pod and wished it was something else. There is a lot of slop in the parts and it makes for a really unsteady mount.

Ive got a harris swivel bipod and that thing is super solid. Ive had it for years and used on 3 or 4 different guns now.

I've got the BR model Harris, shortest they make IIRC. Those things are built like tanks, although I did pay around $60.00 bucks over ten years ago.

I should ditch that Versa-pod for a Harris. Or maybe see if I can modify the legs to mount solidly directly to the stock.

hey guys, yall seem to know a lot about the 10/22

i have an all weather 10/22 (synthetic stock, stainless barrel and receiver), with a burris compact 4-12x scope

I have been looking at getting a boyds evolution stock, anyone have any experience with these?

will they work on the stock (non heavy) barrel?

and also with an aftermarket heavy barrel?

thanks for any advice given guys

Yes the stock is made for a heavy barrel, but a factory taper looks fine on one, because it is free floated (see my pic on the first page of this tread, that stock is a Barrracuda, very similar to the EVO). That is a .17Mach II tapered barrel. Should give you a idea of the look.

I personally like the Cuda better, cause it's not ambidextrous (EVO is). It fits your hand like they made it custom for you, if your right-handed. Points/aims naturally and quick. Pick up a bolt buffer also, it just smoothes out everything.

I've had my Charger for about 2 years now and all I've done to it is add a recoil buffer and 2-7x32 pistol scope.

I like it a lot. It's one of the most fun .22's I have right now. It is a bit bulky for off hand shooting but when the bi-pod is folded forward it makes for a good fore grip. And I love the stock on it, dyeing it has been on my list of mods though.

I think if I had one I would put a red dot, similar to the aimpoint micro so that I could shoot offhand, but with both hands, if that makes any sense? I'm a big fan of walking around the fishing tank and shooting turtle heads that pop up out of the water

I had a cheap red dot on it before and kinda liked it better for the can and spinner target plinking.

my girl got me the Tapco Intrafuse 10/22 stock setup for my birthday, now I jsut need to get a .920 barrel and I am good to go. I like the feel of it so far. bonus that .22 is a lot cheaper to train with than 5.56 or 9mm
